Chapter 253

Hero's Mother After – Chapter 37 Something Doesn't Right

 Serena's POV

In preparation for tomorrow's auction, Fleur and Elsa are looking at the pamphlet together.

Fleur wants to confirm if there are any other names she knows, just like when she found Rosalia's name.

"I don't see anyone particularly famous... but there are some Japanese names here," Fleur says.

"I don't know any of the names, but there are some unusual ones written in Japanese," Elsa remarks.

"What do you mean by 'Japanese names'?"

"Japanese names were common among the reincarnators who existed long ago. They are names of people who were transported or reincarnated from Japan," explains Fleur.

"Although nowadays, it's mostly their descendants nostalgically giving Japanese names to their children," Elsa adds.

Come to think of it, I remember hearing that MomShizuko's name and the characters for 'Shizuko' are also Japanese.

Dad, on the other hand, mentioned being a reincarnator, even though he looks like a person from this world.

I remember Dad suggesting two names for me, 'Kusuo' and 'Taro,' but MomShizuko stopped him, saying it would be troublesome to have a Japanese name.

 "Is that so?"

"Yes, but it's amazing... looking at the catalog in the pamphlet, it seems like the special items or items with a story are gathered on the second day of the auction," Fleur observes.

Indeed, upon closer inspection, the contents seem ordinary on the other days.

"However," Fleur remarked with a hint of disdain, "an auction starting with just 5 copper coins (about 5000 yen) for Rosalia, it's clearly like saying it's a fake... And this 'Truth of Japanese Names,' too? It's starting from just 1 silver coin (10,000 yen), so it's obviously a slave with no value other than having a Japanese name."

Elsa chimed in, "That's true! But just knowing what it means... that alone is interesting."

"Yes," Fleur responded flatly, her voice tinged with skepticism.

"In that case," Elsa proposed thoughtfully, "let's focus on the fake Rosalia and the 'Truth of Japanese Names' for tomorrow's visit... and maybe even participate if necessary... Is that okay?"

"That sounds good," Fleur agreed, her tone laced with intrigue. "I'm curious about what kind of farce it is. The written contents seem genuine, and this woman named Mari with little information is interesting."

Elsa nodded. "Sounds good, doesn't it?"

However, Fleur wears a face that doesn't seem convinced about it.

And Elsa also looks strangely puzzled, or maybe it's just my imagination.

"Is there something bothering you?" I ask, noticing the furrowed brow on Fleur's face.

"Well..." Fleur hesitates, her voice tinged with curiosity, "this market is organized by the Orcman family... When I think about it... I wonder why they would make such a weird mistake..."

"Indeed," Elsa interjects, her voice laced with skepticism, "the Orcman family is famous as slave traders... When you think about it, it doesn't seem like a fake."

"That's true..." I confirm, my voice echoing agreement.

"Besides," Fleur continues, her tone growing more contemplative, "I was sold at that market, but I haven't seen any Orcman family members... Is there something going on?"

"Indeed..." Elsa trails off, her voice tinged with uncertainty, "but I don't know what it could be."

"Well," I offer, my voice filled with cautious optimism, "I guess we'll find out if we go tomorrow, so it's fine, right?"

 ""Yeah, that's right.""

The two of them seem bothered by something... but there's no use worrying about it.
