Volume 4 Chapter 32 Spiritual Penetration Art (Shinrei)

 Collapse was spreading.

Not just me, but the entire space surrounded by the Sanctuary was twisting and compressing into one place.

The activated magic crushed everything in sight with the chaotic and mercilessness of a small child crumpling paper.

The earth and trees shattered and rose, colliding with each other.

Compared to the magic he had just activated, Sper (Vortex), the current magic now even more complex and powerful. It was clear that anyone caught in it would become nothing more than a mass of flesh.

I dismantled the magic with my Star Sword (Stella), but I couldn't keep up. The magic kept reconstructing itself from scattered fragments.

This is the Spiritual Penetration Art (Shinrei). It is fundamentally different from ordinary magic.

The collapse and compression lasted only a minute or so. But for me, who continued to swing my sword, it felt like hours of tense time.

"You've endured well. But the 'Axe Collapse (Heavy Sky Grip)' is still ongoing."

I understood the meaning without even asking.

The black, twisted sphere continued to compress. It was clearly being forcibly restrained by the distortion.

Seeing this, I shouted, "This can't be true," inwardly in a burning sense of impatience.

 "'Lisha! Be careful!'"

Immediately, the magic that was restraining the sphere was released.

The compressed space began to expand and return to its original state. The atmosphere was blown away, and dust scattered faster than the speed of sound.

The twisted and entangled space created irregular air currents, turning into a storm.

Cracks appeared in the Sanctuary, and from there, shocks and gales erupted. There was no way to withstand the aftermath of this natural disaster, and part of the school building shattered and flew away.

 "'D*mn itttt!'"

The Sanctuary flickered, showing Lisha's agony, and phosphorescent light overflowed like blood.

It was an unprecedented shock and heaviness. I was convinced that if the Sanctuary were to be destroyed, not just the school, but the entire town would be blown away.

It flickered countless times, but the Sanctuary somehow managed to endure. It couldn't completely suppress the damage, so the school building and the surrounding forest were collapsing everywhere, but it wasn't a hopeless situation.

However, the inside of the Sanctuary was in a state of devastation.

Or rather, it was like a desert now.

The shattered earth, the fragments of trees and clumps of dirt piled up, and a decadent wind raised sand and smoke.

It was a scale of destruction that seemed as if the entire earth had been thrown into a mixer, completely chaotic.

 "Yuusuke-san!"

 I heard Lisha's voice.

I brushed away the smoke with my red cape and stood up.

To say that I endured it would sound good, but in reality, I just continued to strengthen my armor with my magic power. Thanks to that, my head, which had been spinning at full speed, was throbbing, and the armor was shattered in various places.

 ——Seriously, what a blow.

This is a magic with the power to wipe out not just an army, but an entire city. It's ridiculous for one person to easily use something like that.

As I repeated rough breaths and thought so, a voice came down to me.

"It seems you didn't come out unscathed."

When I looked up, Larkan was standing in the sky, using magic. He looked down on me with eyes bluer and clearer than the moon, with the weight of the past overlapping.

That's right, it was the same when Glaive challenged him. An absolute wall, a monster that was far beyond reach.

"'That's right. I'm not as strong as you guys.'"

Neither Lord nor the Demon Lord, I can't fight against them alone. The talent for magic they were born with, the immense magic power, and the time to polish it. There's no way someone like me, who was born and raised in Japan, living peacefully, can win.

I was able to win back then because I had comrades.

 But still.

"'But I can't afford to lose.'"

After all, I made a promise.

No matter how difficult the path may be, no matter how unbeatable the opponent may be. I will continue on my righteous path.

"'Tonight, I will surpass you once again, Larkan Mines.'"

As long as I remain "true," my true name will not be clouded.

Now, I raised my left arm high.

As if grasping the stars and what lies beyond.

I imagine a great tree that supports the sky. It contains the raging beast within and reaches out to those who should be unreachable.

My red cape fluttered fiercely, losing its form like flames spreading.

Silver dyed in red. My magic power trembled, giving birth to its first cry.

 Now, let's go together.

Even if I choose this path, that path is never lonely.

"'My True Name - Flame Linker (Infinity Light'"
