Volume 4 Chapter 33 Distortion To Truth

Volume 4 Chapter 33 Distortion to Truth

When Larkan saw Yuusuke's transformation, he was swinging his halberd. It was a strange sight, as if he was being burned by flames. But the essence was not in appearance.

The magic power itself was undergoing a transformation.

What he had felt before, the silver magic power, was fundamentally different from what was being born within him.

Because Larkan had seen many formidable enemies, including the Demon Lord and other Lord like himself, he felt a sense of crisis. That was one thing that must not be completed.

It was clearly different from the magic performed by conventional magicians.

It was the awakening of an enemy, an unknown magic. Normally, Larkan would have calmly observed it and crushed it after assessing everything.

But his instincts as a warrior did not allow that.

He had to kill him as soon as possible.

And that impatience moved his arm.

 "'Anrosto (Distortion to Truth)'!"

The halberd accelerated and mowed down Yuusuke.

Not satisfied with just that, he showered him with multiple distorted strikes, breaking them apart with blue flashes even as dust filled the air.

The enhanced strikes, strengthened by the Spiritual Penetration Art, should have surely sliced through the joints of the armor and struck vital points.

 But it didn't happen.

The strikes ended up only scattering sparks, and he appeared.

"...So, that is your true form, Silver."

 Larkan saw it.

 There stood a lone knight.

The silver brilliance had disappeared, replaced by armor that had turned black and shrunk by one size.

And it was covered by a deep red coat. The edges of the sleeves and hem flickered as if they were on fire, and the hood illuminated the helmet.

The Hero, who was expected to be the hero of the human race, was not there.

Instead, it was a warrior who had risen after countless battles, a warrior who had embraced both purity and impurity.

Seeing this, Larkan instinctively readied his weapon again.

Coincidentally, he had a memory of this sensation. The aura of a conqueror that was difficult to approach but impossible to ignore. Just like Larkan first met the Demon Lord Julius Roderest, he had experienced a similar sensation.

Although the boy in front of him was of the human race, his essence was still closer to that of the Demon Lord.

Now, while lifting the one thing that remained unchanged, the Bastard Sword, Yuusuke answered.

"'There is nothing true. I just moved forward. That's what it means to be human.'"

 "No doubt."

Larkan laughed. Perhaps Yuusuke would have laughed under his helmet as well.

There was no choice but to face each other.

After exchanging a words, both of them closed the distance, intending to kill each other at the same time. Larkan compressed the space with Waze (Sky Twist) and appeared unexpectedly in front of Yuusuke.

For the note, he could freely determine how far he would fly. Surprise attacks and evasions were at his whim.

 "..."

However, it was Larkan who was caught off guard.

He should have predicted Yuusuke's speed and movements. Nevertheless, Yuusuke had disappeared in front of him.

Immediately, he fully utilized his five senses to search for his position.

 Had he been outmaneuvered?

A vast amount of magic power, which made no attempt to hide, descended from above. Without even raising his head, Larkan swung his halberd.

Immediately, a bone-crushing impact struck him.

Clearly, Yuusuke's power now surpassed Larkan's. By changing his form, his speed and strength had increased.

But Larkan was also the Lord who was hailed as the strongest.

The Spiritual Penetration Art that was still in effect altered all realities and enforced the unreasonable.

 'Ash (Five-Finger Destruction)!'

Invisible fingers reached out to capture Yuusuke. The strongest magic that twisted and distorted everything, be it matter, magic, or phenomena, without question.

Usually, it takes a considerable amount of time for Larkan to activate the technique, but while using Spiritual Penetration Art, he was able to deploy multiple instances in no time.

Yuusuke seemed to have realized that and evaded by kicking in mid-air.

However, Yuusuke's offensive continues. In fact, just when Larkan thought he had created distance, another slash approached from a different direction. Each strike was heavy, and even if he tried to counter with "Ash," it was too fast to catch up.

 "'Thunder Sword (Gilv)'"

The thrust of the red lightning aimed for the heart, and if blocked, it would lead to a new form.

 "'Double Moon Blade (Double Cress)'"

Two floating moons in the night sky swiftly mowed down a wide area. Blood burst from the legs and shoulders, and he was blown away by a follow-up kick.

To be overwhelmed to this extent in close combat was beyond imagination.

So, Larkan quickly gave up on capturing Yuusuke with "Ash" and made another move.

"I can't let you rampage freely."

If he can't catch up, then he'll impose restrictions on the opponent.

Larkan activated magic power and cast magic over a wide area.

 'Labyrinth (Mirage Village).'

The blue magic power twisted the space randomly, creating a transparent maze. It was not temporary but a continuously bent space that hindered the movements of intruders.

Originally, it was a magic used to stop the advance of enemy forces. But it was cast on an individual. No matter how fast or powerful, it couldn't be surpassed.

Upon seeing the magic, Yuusuke stopped his charge.

Red magic power spiraled around his arm, and geometric patterns ran across his bastard sword.

Yuusuke's eyes spoke from behind his helmet. If it covers the surroundings, then he should dominate the entire space. Overwhelm with quantity.

 "'Mikatia (Storm Sword)'"

The storm of swords swallowed the maze.

It was a feat that submerged the maze itself with an overwhelming amount of water. In this case, "Labyrinth" turned into a prison that trapped Larkan.

The red wind stirred up the sand and cut through the blue magic power.

It was tremendous. The speed of judgment and the instantaneous execution.

 But Larkan can read it.

With a slash sound, he cut through the wall and released the maze, closing in on Yuusuke. His body was injured, but still, he moved forward with his cloak stained with blood.

From the beginning, he didn't think he could completely defend against the attacks with "Labyrinth." Instead, he just wanted a moment to switch to the offensive.

Now, his halbred imbued with blue light clashed with Yuusuke's sword.

In pure strength, Yuusuke had the upper hand.

But Larkan was also a monster. His excellent magic and experience became weapons that could kill any formidable enemy.

'Axe Collapse - Rage (Mad Blade)'

As he chanted the magic, his Halberd exploded.

No, the blades that had been thoroughly compressed by "Axe Collapse" were released at the moment of impact.

A series of overlapping slashes in an instant.

Yuusuke couldn't completely defend against it, and his armor cracked as he was blown away, spraying blood.

If received at close range, it was a technique that could turn any opponent into pieces. Rather, it was not sane to remain intact at this point.

After that, Larkan deployed "Ash" to deliver the finishing blow.
