Volume 6 Chapter 14 Another Night
The door closes with a small sound.
When Kanami look up, Lisha, who was supposed to have left the room just now, was standing at the entrance.
"...What's wrong?"
Kanami closed the book she was reading and put it down.
Lisha walked straight towards her, whether she heard her voice or not, and sat down on the bed with a thud.
"..."
Seeing this, Kanami tucked her loosely waving hair behind her ears and hid a sigh.
The reason why Lisha had become like this was obvious. With everyone's consent, she was always monitoring the inside of the house with "Shayka Eyes" while she was in this house.
Of course, she was considerate of the minimum privacy, but she knew who was in which room.
She also knew that Tsukiko was in Yuusuke's room right now.
And that Lisha had tried to visit Yuusuke's room and came back.
She knew about their relationship. After all, if she went to college, she could gather that kind of information as much as she wanted.
And the first thing that attacked Kanami was astonishment. Then, frustration, jealousy, and disappointment in herself that had nowhere to go.
If someone ask her if she have come to terms with that feeling now, she doesn't have the confidence to affirm it right away.
That's how much Yuusuke and Tsukiko had a special connection. A bond that she could never touch.
And there was no way Lisha wouldn't notice it.
"Is there something that bothers you?"
Kanami sat next to Lisha and spoke to her again.
The answer came back after a while.
"...I don't know"
"What don't you know?"
"I want Yuusuke-san to be happy"
Lisha said that as if to confirm her own feelings, looking straight ahead.
"Yes, yes, that's right. I think so too"
"I was confident that I could do anything for that"
Lisha said that and fell back. The futon bounced and she sank into the white.
As if ashamed of herself, Lisha covered her face with both hands and continued.
"But still, I... now... I feel like saying something very selfish."
Her voice was trembling.
"..."
Kanami didn't know what to say for once, and stroked her scattered blonde hair.
"Distord Lord" The battle with Larkan Mines.
In that battle, Lisha learned Yuusuke's true identity. She doesn't know the details of what happened then.
But even if she saw Yuusuke who came back, it was easy to guess. She must have gone to a place where she would never have been able to reach if she had given up on being special to that person.
A place where Eris Philin Centraris and Isumi Tsukiko had been in the past. The closest place. If Lisha could grow not as a saint, but as a human being, perhaps the raging emotions in her heart could be given a name.
"It's alright, nothing strange happened."
Hopefully, they can be here until that moment.
Will the night wait for the prayer that seems to melt and disappear in the light? No one knows.
