Volume 1 Chapter 37 I Gave Nakagaito A Choker As A Gift And She Called Me A Pervert
This week, nothing really unusual happened except for me accepting Nakagaito's invitation to watch a movie.
On Monday and Wednesday, I have activities in the home economics club.
On Tuesday and Thursday, I make videos with Nakagaito.
On Friday and Saturday, I work at a pastry shop, and now it's Sunday.
I tidy myself up and go to the meeting place in front of the station.
"Yayoi-chan, sorry for making you wait. Did you just arrive?"
"No, I just got here too, so it's fine."
"Well then, let's have a good day today as well."
"Yes, of course."
The two of us take a train and a bus to go to Lalaport and visit a shoe store.
"There are some decent-looking shoes starting from around 4000 yen."
"Well, if you go for the expensive ones, they can cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of yen, but even if they're not that expensive, they'll be fine as long as they match my clothes. I already have loafers, so it's good to have one pair of sneakers and driving shoes. Hmm, which one suits me..."

In a similar way, I ended up buying a pair of brown shoes for driving, and 10,000 yen disappeared.

So, just as I was about to go inside and start eating, I saw Nakagaito outside the restaurant. She looked like she put a lot of effort into dressing nicely.
I checked the time and it was still a little before 1 PM, even though we were supposed to meet at 2 PM. She came really early...
I was wondering what to do when Yayoi-chan asked me,
"Aa-kun, what's wrong?"
"Well, the person I said I would meet at 2 PM seems to already be at the meeting place, so I'm not sure what to do."
"Oh, that's a bit too early. Maybe they were planning to have lunch here."

"I haven't even finished high school yet, so there's no way I have a girlfriend. Yayoi-chan, this is Nakagaito."
I told her about my friend, and she looked a bit shy. She said,
"Hello, um..."
"Hello. My name is Hongou Yayoi."
"Oh, I am Nakagaito Shizuka."
"Please be friends with Aa-kun."
"Yes, okay."
We planned to start watching a movie at 2:30. Let's talk and eat slowly now.
Yayoi-chan and Nakagaito seemed to like each other, laughing and talking while they ate grilled veggies, salad, and soup.
I mostly ate meat and talked a little.
It's time to go.
"Yayoi-chan, the movie is starting soon."
"Oops! We were talking a lot."
Yayoi-chan smiled, and Nakagaito agreed.
"Do you want to add each other on social media?"
"Okay, sure,"
They exchanged their IDs.
"Well, Yayoi-chan, thanks for today."
"No problem, I enjoyed myself too."
"So, shall we go watch a movie, Nakagaito?"
"Yes."
We went to the biggest cinema in Chiba Prefecture.
"Let's see... our seats are in row L, seats 12 and 13."
"The place is over there, I think."
"Yeah, before we go, should we get some popcorn and drinks? What flavor do you want?"
"What do you mean?"
"Eating a whole bucket of popcorn by myself is hard, so let's share."
"Oh, I understand. I prefer the regular salt flavor."
"Alright, regular salt it is. And how about coke for the drink?"
"Yeah, that's fine."
With that decided, we got two cokes and a bucket of popcorn and went to our seats.
The movie was said to be a "Chiba & Saitama This Movie," known for its mix of love and laughter. It had a somewhat cynical content, but seeing the theater filled with laughter, it seemed to be quite popular.
Saitama and Chiba live a lifestyle similar to the Edo period, and people from these areas face discrimination. However, the situation is worse in northern Kanto, and the battle between Saitama and Chiba is quite intense. Cars and motorcycles have become common somehow, which can be a little confusing. Since this is a comedy movie, it's best to watch without worrying too much.
Even though the live-action movie version was released on February 22nd and some time has passed, there are still many people going to see it.
After the movie, Nakagaito suggested,
"If you have a time, how about doing some window shopping?"
Since I had a good time today, I thought it would be nice to go along with it. We will probably just look at clothes that I don't plan on buying for a long time.
"Oh, okay. There are many clothing stores, shoe stores, and general stores here."
"Great, let's go then."
While we were looking around, I found a cute choker at the general store. It was in the shape of a heart charm and made of velvet material. It looked like a collar. It's reasonably priced at 1000 yen, so maybe I'll buy it as a thank-you for today's movie.
"Sorry, can I have this?"
"Oh, sure, thanks a lot."
I gave it to Nakagaito.
"Uh, what's this?"
"Thanks for today. It's not fancy, but it's my way of saying thanks."
Nakagaito blushed while looking at it.
"Um, you know... It's a bit weird to give a girl you just met a collar-like choker... Are you a perver?"
"Huh?"
"Never mind. Just don't give this to any other girl; they'll think you're pervert, so please don't."
While saying that, Nakagaito puts on the choker.

Nakagaito turned away with a dismissive expression.
"It's fine! Now, let's go home."
"Yeah, yeah."
Somehow, when she turned away with a dismissive expression, I felt like she had a really good smile. I can't understand this girl's feelings at all.
I wish she would make it clear whether she's uncomfortable or happy, one way or the other.
