Li Xia's heart sank when he heard those words. He couldn't feel happy about someone cooking for him. This kind of plot was too familiar. Who knows what strange secretions she would add to the food during the cooking process.

"Okay," Kirigiri Shimizu breathed a sigh of relief when she heard it was rice balls. Making rice balls wasn't complicated. Although she hadn't cooked before, with her exquisite skill of crushing an enemy's trachea with her bare hands, making a rice ball shouldn't be a problem.

Kirigiri Shimizu took out a black card and handed it to the waitress. "I will pay the rent."

At that moment, a hand reached out from behind and held her.
"Sorry if we scared you," Li Xia said with a sunny smile. "She's a bit assertive, but she means no harm."
He then pointed to the black card in her arms and said, "You can charge more rent; it's okay, consider it an apology."
"Oh, okay," the waitress, not very old, initially startled by Kirigiri Shimizu, now being comforted by this sunny handsome guy, suddenly felt healed. A hint of blush appeared on her face, and she felt a bit at a loss.
"Actually, she's a nice person," Li Xia reminded with a smile. "If you're not at ease, you can check the surveillance."
"Okay, okay," the female server nodded. Without much thought, she felt more reassured after Li Xia's reminder and decided to take a look at the surveillance.
So, Li Xia smoothly followed the female server to the counter, where the restaurant's comprehensive surveillance was in place, including one focused on the kitchen.
Kirigiri Shimizu suddenly appeared in the kitchen, naturally leaving the chefs there bewildered.
The surveillance couldn't capture what she said, but one of the chefs stepped back and made room for her. Kirigiri Shimizu walked forward, disregarding the greasy kitchen, and started making rice balls.
From her technique, it was obvious she wasn't skilled in culinary arts; the rice balls she formed fell apart without taking shape.
Another chef approached, seemingly offering guidance, and Kirigiri Shimizu listened attentively.
After listening, she immediately started practicing, failing many times. When a chef tried to help, she declined, persistently attempting on her own.
Li Xia observed all of this, genuinely puzzled now. Initially thinking she was using cooking to play some strange game, it now appeared that she was sincerely making rice balls.
During his moment of distraction, Kirigiri Shimizu had already made the rice balls. However, she didn't serve them right away. Instead, she inspected them herself and seemed unsatisfied with their appearance, so she started making new ones.
A mysterious emotion suddenly arose in Li Xia's heart as he watched this elegant woman putting in so much effort to make the rice balls he desired. It was difficult to put into words how he felt.
After making more than ten of them, Kirigiri Shimizu finally seemed satisfied with her creations and carefully placed them on a plate.
Before she came out, Li Xia greeted the waitress and returned to his seat.
Not long after, Kirigiri Shimizu walked over, carrying a plate and placing it gently in front of him.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting," Kirigiri Shimizu said quietly, without any unnecessary words. After placing the plate down, she sat across from him and softly said, "Try them."
"Sure," Li Xia nodded, looking at the six exquisitely made rice balls in front of him. If he hadn't witnessed the entire process, it would be hard to imagine how many sacrifices were made to create these few finished products.
He reached out and picked up one rice ball, took a bite, and the simple fragrance of the rice blossomed in his mouth. Knowing that these were meticulously crafted by Kirigiri Shimizu's hands, he couldn't help but feel a subtle mix of emotions.
"You must be curious about why I do these things" Kirigiri Shimizu asked when she saw him eating a rice ball without any surprise on his face.
"Huh?" Li Xia was surprised. "You do these things because you're pervert, right? Trying to satisfy some weird mental thing. Is there any other reason?"
Kirigiri Shimizu, not aware of Li Xia's thoughts, continued following the plan she had in mind. "It all started on May 27th eighteen years ago. Underneath the world we live in, there are hidden residents in the darkness."
Li Xia paused; May 27th eighteen years ago, wasn't that his own birthday?
"That year, my child was born in the Yan Kingdom," Kirigiri Shimizu said, her eyes fixed on his, her expression still cold but her voice gentle.
