Volume 1 Chapter 3 I've Arrived At The Royal Capital, But..
To put it simply, I came along as Relix's babysitter because he was chosen by God as a Brave. But honestly, two weeks of guys hanging out together wouldn't make for an interesting story.
Even though I'm called the caretaker, the Church folks took care of most of our basic needs like food and shelter. And when monsters appeared a few times along the way, the Church people armed themselves and wiped them out in no time.
The only thing I could do was have small talk with Relix. We're not exactly close, so the conversations were pretty casual.
But for some reason, he showed a strong interest in the fact that I recently exterminated some monsters.
That day, the village head said there was something important to discuss with the villagers, but the monsters that appeared near the farm were a bigger problem. Those creatures would eat anything, especially plants, so if left unchecked, the crops we worked so hard on would be destroyed. And it looked like the damage could spread to other farms too, so I spent the whole day getting rid of the monsters.
Fortunately, the meat of the monster we encountered this time was edible, so my dining table became quite luxurious for a few days.
Then, it was decided that I would go to the royal capital with Relix, so I exchanged the excess meat for money with the neighbors. The food situation until we reach the royal capital will be taken care of by the Church, and I thought it would be better to exchange it for money that can be used in the royal capital. Thanks to this, my financial situation is quite comfortable, and it can be said that I have gathered a sufficient amount of money to fulfill my ambitions.
By the way, someone in the village asked me for a favor when I go to the royal capital, but that can wait for later.
Well, that's why we arrived safely at the royal capital "Blesstia" without any significant incidents or problems.
Oh, I forgot to mention, the country we live in is called 'Arcus'. I don't know the origin of the name, but it's supposed to be one of the top countries in the world or something. I haven't really been interested in that stuff, so I don't know much about it. ──Anyway, Blesstia was like a magnificent and grand place that seemed to come straight out of my imagination.
Man, there are so many people here. It's just too crowded. And the buildings are huge. I've never seen buildings that go beyond two stories before.
I was overwhelmed as I looked at the cityscape of the royal capital from the carriage, but being here reminded me of what I really wanted.
"Well then, Brave-sama, I'll ask for an audience with the king──"
"Oh, sorry. I'll just get off here."
""...Huh?""
Ignoring Relix and Pain tilting their heads, I opened the carriage door.
"It's not a big deal for a villager like me to not meet the king."
Unfortunately, I've lived a life without any respect of etiquette. If it were Relix, a Brave, it might be fine, but it was clear that it would be a hassle if I caused any trouble.
So, I decided to do something else as soon as I arrived at Royal Capital.
"If something happens, I'll show up at the church in this city."
"Hey, wait a mom──"
Pain said something, but I didn't pay attention and jumped out of the carriage and blended into the crowd.
Now that I have arrived at Royal Capital, let's get to my purpose right away.
The reason I came to the Royal Capital was not just to admire the glamor of being with the king. Yes, it's all for this moment.
"Let’s go to── 'red-light district'!"
──I'm not joking, I'm serious.
The main reason I went to the Royal Capital was to buy pr**titutes in the red-light district that I heard about.
As a man, I want to have a wonderful "first experience."
I did as much homework as possible.
On the way to the Royal Capital, I learned a lot of information from the man who was with Pain.
No matter how holy someone is, men are still men. According to him, it seems that there are quite a few who use money to buy women to satisfy their pent-up s*xual desires.

What's important is to have fun with beautiful women in the red-light district.
My financial situation is quite good.

After my "first experience," I'll live in the royal capital until Relix sets off on the journey to defeat the Demon King, and then I'll return to the village when the time is right.
And so, I headed straight to the district I heard about.
I turned from the vibrant main street into the narrow alleyways and continued deeper. As the glitz and glamour faded, a slightly chilly air brushed against my skin.
As I ventured further, I entered a slightly open space. I hate to say it, but it was quite dirty. Upon closer inspection, I noticed some people sitting at the edge of the road, drowning their sorrows in alcohol even in broad daylight, and a few others lying down. It was a stark contrast to the flashy atmosphere of the main street, and it felt quite dark.
I couldn't afford to hesitate. I had grand ambitions hidden within me.
The destination── the red-light district was further ahead from here. This place was merely the "entrance" to the hidden side of the city.
I took a deep breath and pumped myself up.
──I needed courage! There was no time to be scared!
"Please stop!"
──While I was thinking such things, I heard a woman's scream.
"Hmm?"
So, a short distance in front of me, I saw this sketchy dude bothering a girl with a hood on up ahead.
──Anyway, I had to step in and give him a piece of my mind (and maybe a little more).
What, too direct?
Well, come on, it was obvious the girl was in trouble, right?
I mean, even if she looked like she got hit by a truck or cursed with an ugly stick, it shouldn't matter. When a girl's in trouble, it's a guy's job to help out, at least that's what I was taught and what I believe.
Now, if it was a guy in trouble, I'd probably still help, but my motivation might not be as high, you know?
I mean, come on, if you're gonna help someone, might as well go for the girl, right?
