Volume 1 Chapter 6 I Had Fun With The Young Lady, But..
Originally, after had s*x, I was planning to leisurely explore the royal capital the next day. But now, you could say my plans got moved up. Besides fooling around with the beautiful lady, I was also looking forward to trying out unique foods in the royal capital.
But, as I was excitedly anticipating──
"Look! What's that over there!?"
"It's a grilled skewer."
"A grilled skewer? What kind of dish is that!?"
"It's just meat skewered on a stick and grilled, a simple dish as it looks."
"But it smells incredibly delicious!"
"Sure, it does look tasty."
The excitement of the strange companion I coincidentally met (a busty beauty) was off the charts.
The young lady would point at things she noticed at food stalls and along the road, asking what they were. As for me, there were many things I was encountering for the first time, so my answers were often vague. But even with such responses, the young lady seemed to be having a great time.
And so, watching her, I'm having a great time too.
Then, before I knew it, the young lady stopped and gazed at the grilled skewers on display with a look of longing. There had been plenty of food stalls before, but it seems like the grilled skewers have struck a chord with her.
Come to think of it, I haven't eaten anything since coming to the royal capital, so I take her hand and lead her to the front of the shop.
Although I felt a bit reluctant, I let go of her hand, took out my wallet, and called out to the boss owner.
"Boss, two skewers, please."
"Sure thing. Oh, bro, you've got quite the lovely lady with you. Is this a date, by any chance?"
"──Huh!? A man and a woman going out together... Is this what they call a 'date' that I've heard rumors about!?"
I left the oddly trembling young lady and handed the boss owner the money for two skewers.
"Thanks as always. As a gesture for the beautiful lady, I'll throw in two more for free."
"Wow, you're quite generous, boss, just like your appearance."
"Quit your yapping!!"
He didn't seem to be offended in the slightest, and after thanking the boss, who was laughing loudly and shaking his big belly, I received four skewers.
Then, we moved away from the shop so as not to disturb the shop and handed two skewers to the young lady.
"Here, let's you eat first."
"Um... did I look like I wanted to eat that much?"
"Oh, definitely. Your eyes were glued to it."
"Uuuuhh..."
The young lady blushed at her own gluttonous appetite. However, as soon as she received one skewer in each hand, her eyes immediately sparkled.
She must have been really interested.
Just as I thought that, she suddenly froze.
"What's wrong? Weren't you eager to eat?"
"Oh, well... um..."
She hesitated in her answer, her gaze wandering, and eventually muttered.
"I-I don't know how to eat it..."
Well, eating manners are a little...
"Oh, forget it. It's too much trouble to explain."
It's easier to show than explain.
I take a bite into the meat skewered on my hand. As expected of the royal capital, not only does the meat taste great, but the sauce is also incredibly delicious. I've had skewers in the village before, but this deep flavor can only be achieved by combining various seasonings. It's truly something unique to the royal capital where many things come together.
"Do you eat it directly without using a fork?"
"(nod nod)"
The young lady looks at me in astonishment as I chew on the meat.
"──This must be the way commoners do it, right?"
Well, it's not that fancy, but since I still have some meat in my mouth, I had no choice but to stay silent and ignore her comment.
As the young lady gets serious and prepares to take a bite of her skewer, I hear a sound.
──Crunch
She opens her small mouth wide and wipes the meat from the skewer. Her way of eating is so cute, it's impressive. It's as if sound effects that shouldn't be audible are playing in my mind on their own.
A young ladyl bites into the meat and chews it in her mouth. With each passing moment, her face lights up with surprise. I can tell from the sparkle in her eyes that it's not because the meat doesn't taste good. It seems like she really likes it.
"Mmm! Mmm!"
"First, chew it properly, then swallow."
I stop the excited young lady with my hand while her mouth is still closed, and she moves her mouth with all her might. It's as if a small animal is earnestly eating something, and it's incredibly cute.
Eventually, the girl swallows the meat and finally speaks.
"It's delicious! It's so delicious!! I've never had something this tasty before!!"
"Well, of course it is."
The young lady is overwhelmed with joy over something that can be bought even with a child's allowance. It would be rude to think it's cheap and good.
"Do commoner always eat such delicious food?"
It's a question that slipped out without much thought. I couldn't help but playfully respond.
"It's like you have no idea about commoner's food."
"Wha-!? Th-th-th-there's no way! I'm not someone who doesn't know about commoner's food! I am the commoner among commoners. The King of Commoner, that's me!"
"No one cares that much, though..."
The young lady's panic was extraordinary. In the first place, it was already too late when she didn't know how to eat grilled skewers. But let's refrain from making any further comments, as it would be pitiful.
"Well then, after finishing this, let's go to other shops. We still have a long way to go."
"Yes!"
Crunch ──Munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch
The young lady ate the grilled skewers with single-minded focus.
"Take your time and savor the flavors more."
"──(Nod, nod)"
The young lady nodded while still eating with all her heart.
──After that, the young lady's excitement was incredible.
At first, I was supposed to hold her hand and lead the way, but somehow, without realizing it, I ended up being pulled along by the young lady.
If she find an interesting game store, we head over there.
If she find a delicious food store, we charge towards it.
It's just like a child rushing their parents.
Since I was holding hands with a woman, it was definitely a perk and I didn't feel bad about it.
The young lady's hand was so delicate and soft that it seemed like it would crumple if I squeezed it. Even though my hands were hardened from working on the farm, her hands had their own charm and didn't feel bad at all. It somehow felt refreshing.
"Oh, that looks interesting too!"
As the young lady enthusiastically pursued something new that caught her interest, I threw a question at her, somewhat belatedly.
"Young lady, are you enjoying yourself?"
"This is the most fun I've ever had in my life!!"
Her answer was so impactful. I couldn't help but burst into laughter. Seeing me suddenly laugh, the young lady looked surprised.
"Oh, no. I mean, it's also the most fun I've ever had."
"Really! That's great!!"
Then, we had a great time enjoying the festival and sightseeing to our heart's content.
