Volume 16 Chapter 1 Journey To The Heart Of The Stars
We were on a journey towards "The Heart of the Stars."
Though we didn't know the exact location, we had determined the direction using Rosa's search magic, so we were heading in that direction.
We planned to periodically ask Rosa to refresh the exploration magic, and if we found out more details about where "The Heart of the Stars" was, we'd adjust our path accordingly.
"Well, as long as we have the direction, we'll eventually get there."
Victor-san said.
"I always move forward like this," he added.
Moving forward like that, Victor-san, you always end up getting lost, don't you?
"Will we have to fight off those guys like last time?"
Mirabell asked.
"I don't understand. Personally, I want to avoid fighting. I didn't originally come here to battle."
I shake my head from side to side.
"But I guess we have to deal with the sparks flying around."
"Yeah, you're right."
Bernard-san and Rath agree.
"――It seems like those sparks are coming our way."
Rosa said.
We stop in our tracks, startled.
Could it be another 'Relic Holder' like the one we encountered before!?
We brace ourselves, but what appears in front of us is an unexpected presence.
"Are you Rain Garland?"
A man in black asks.
Suddenly, wings sprout from his back.
He's not human.
This guy――.
"Are you a demon...?"
I've fought demons before during my promotion quest as a Class A adventurer.
Since then, I haven't encountered any demons, but...
He gives off a similar vibe.
It's like a creepy feeling that makes your whole body feel uneasy, like something not human.
"According to your classification, I would be considered a high-ranking demon? My name is Ziredurzo."
"That's a tongue-twister of a name."
Mirabell added tsukkomi.
"Hey, are you mocking my proud name?"
Ziredurzo snapped angrily.
Well, I had the same thought as Mirabell.
"What do you the demon want?"
I stared at Ziredurzo.
"The one who reaches 'The Heart of the Stars' can gain great power - it's an old legend in the Demon World."
The demon explained.
Is this guy also aiming for 'The Heart of the Stars'?
"If I can obtain that power, I'll become the next Demon King."
