"Adel-sama, what is this black mist...?"
As we left the tavern, black mist enveloped the surroundings.
Fran explained the strange sight.
"Adel-san, it seems like this mist is spreading from the heart of the capital city. The people in streets are acting strange..."
"Acting strange?"
"Adel, look...!"
Teti tugged at my clothes, and we saw many people on the street.
Some staggering, some kneeling, some leaning against buildings.
Everyone looked pale and out of breath.
It was clear that they were affected by this black mist.
"Adel-sama, considering what my father mentioned earlier, this mist..."
"Yeah, so Charles spreading the Droplet of Soma is causing this..."
Although the people didn't seem as mentally affected as Van from yesterday, some were groaning in pain.
If the black mist continues to spread like this, it's not hard to imagine the significant damage it will cause.
In the capital city, tens of thousands of people reside.

Indeed, monsters have entered the city.
Each monster is shrouded in black miasma.

I click my tongue and head towards the wyvern that is about to attack the city's people.

"Fran, engage with the monsters while prioritizing the evacuation of the townspeople. Keeping them away from the city center should buy us some time."
"Understood! I'll secure a safe route from the informant."
"Reisha, I'm counting on you to support Lilyna. With your Guardian Knight job ability, you should be able to serve as the vanguard."
"Yes!"
Giving instructions to everyone, I nodded with Maia and Teti as we headed towards the royal palace.
And then, I announced to everyone.
"Sorry everyone, but please bear with me. I'm going to beat up that crappy parent who caused all this commotion."
