Chapter 25 Did I Overdo It?
When the meeting was over and the guild representatives left the office, Robert and the others couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Hahaha, Sara, you really something else, after all."
"We significantly reduced the budget for the subjugation rewards, didn't we?"
"The guild leaders' faces were priceless. They were completely taken in by Miss Sara!"
"It's because they underestimated her, thinking she's just a kid..."
"We were like that at first too, weren't we?"
"Exactly!"
As Sara let out a sigh, watching them with a sidelong glance.
"Do you think I'm not childish? But isn't this a bit too harsh?"
"Sara, it's probably the guild representatives who got a rough deal..."
"Yeah, Miss Sara should be more aware of herself..."
"I thought I did something good for the territory, but why didn't I get any praise?"
It seemed like Robert and Rebecca weren't on her side regarding this matter either.
'Muuuuuu...'

That night, as Sara soaked in the bath, she was deep in thought.
'Did I overdo it? I might have become a bit too cheat-like in terms of domestic politics. If I overdo it, I might catch the attention of the royal family and get into trouble. I should probably be more careful. But I can't let Grandchester fall until I'm independent...'
"Milady Sara, I'll wash your hair, so please close your eyes."
Maria took a bottle of liquid and began washing Sara's hair with a gentle scrubbing motion.
'This shampoo is really low-foaming, isn't it?'
She hadn't really paid attention to it until now, but compared to the shampoo from her previous life, this one had very little foam. There was no conditioner or treatment, and the washing left her hair feeling slightly rough. That's why, in this world, the aristocratic hair care routine involved using hair oil to add luster to her hair after it had dried to a certain extent.
Then, Maria used the same liquid to wash Sara's body, gently scrubbing her skin with a soft cloth.
'Wait, is the shampoo and body soap the same thing?!'
The foam was still minimal. The scent wasn't bothersome, but she couldn't detect any fragrance either.
'Is this a gentle shampoo that doesn't use any harsh chemicals, suitable for kids?'
When Sara lived as a commoner, she didn't use shampoo or body soap. In fact, she didn't even have the habit of taking baths. She would wash her face and hands with water every day, but she only washed her entire body about once a week. She didn't use soap or anything like that.
In the summer, she would wash her body in the river while doing her laundry, and in the winter, she would pour hot water into a tub and use a soft cloth to wipe her hair and body. That was normal for commoners in this world.
However, after being taken in by the Grandchester family and getting used to taking a bath every day, she couldn't imagine going back to her old life as a commoner. It was probably because Sarasa's memories were also having a big influence on her.
When she got out of the bath, several maids would dry her hair with towels. They would use a large amount of towels to dry her hair carefully, and finally, they would apply a small amount of hair oil to finish the job. Sara couldn't help but think, "Ah, if only we had a hair dryer, it would be so much faster..."
Next was changing into her evening clothes.
'When I wake up, I change into my morning clothes, change again before going to the office building, change into my evening clothes after my bath, and change into my pajamas before bed. Why do nobles have to change so many times...?'
In reality, as an adult, the time needed for changing clothes would increase, and a significant amount of time would be spent on changing clothes every day. But Sara didn't know that yet.
Breakfast and lunch were usually just Sara and Rebecca, but they would try to have dinner with Robert as well, making it a 3-person meal. This was because Rebecca had proposed it to help Sara learn formal dinner etiquette. They would follow the proper dinner format as much as possible, and their conversation would have to be in a noble-like tone.
Each time, they would set a different task, such as "Robert is the host, and Sara and Rebecca are the guests" or "Sara is the hostess, and Robert and Rebecca are the annoying nobles."
Today's task was "to deal with Robert, who is complaining about the food, while not offending the other guests." Therefore, Sara had decided on the evening's menu herself.
"Ms. Sara, this lamb's herb roast is amazing!"
"I'm honored you think so. I heard Lady Rebecca loves lamb, so our chef insisted on serving this dish especially for her."
"It's really delicious!"
"Hmph, this meat is overcooked and tough. And there's too much herbs, so I can't taste the original flavor of the meat."
"Sir Robert, I apologize if the lamb doesn't suit your taste. How about a beef steak instead?"
"It's not that I dislike lamb, it's just that this dish is bad."
"Oh my! Sir Robert is being mean~. Don't mind it, Ms. Sara. This lamb is quite tasty."
"I forgot that many gentlemen dislike strong seasonings. And I should have asked about the cooking level beforehand. Sir Robert, please forgive my immaturity."
Sara looked up at Robert with tears in her eyes, apologizing. She was on the verge of crying.
"Hey, Sara, that gaze is unfair. You're going to make me feel guilty."
Robert let out a sigh and gave in.
"Well, it's a useful skill to have. Ms. Sara is a skilled actress, calculating how others see her."
"Didn't Miss Rebecca teach me that 'you should use all the skills you have'?"
"That's going too far, Sara... Revi, Sara is getting scary."
"You're still surprised by this? You're still not used to it, Rob."
This was how Sara quickly learned social skills at an alarming rate.
