Chapter 54 The Piano, The Fairy, And Grandfather
Since there were many things that wouldn't be resolved until tomorrow, the study group meeting ended earlier than expected. For some reason, Sara was still being carried by Robert as they left the study room, and she called out to Rebecca who was behind them.
"Hey, Miss Rebecca. I still have some time before bedtime, right?"
"That's right, we've got a bit more time."
"What do you think Grandfather is doing right now?"
"He's probably enjoying wine in his room."
"Then, would it be okay if I asked Grandfather to listen to my piano playing, or should I ask Maria to ask him for me?"
Robert looked worried and peeked at Sara's face.
"Weren't we going to talk about this at breakfast tomorrow?"
"I thought it would be better to ask earlier. Besides, I heard that Grandfather is waiting for someone to play the piano for him."
"Well, we're completely useless, so..."
"Today's moon is beautiful, so I don't think it's a bad idea to have a musical evening."
"That's true. Shall we go to the music room?"
Maria hurried off towards Marquis's room.
When Sara arrived at the music room, she opened all the window curtains and only turned on the minimum number of magic stone lamps.
Juliette, the music room's maid, who was still tuning the instruments in the music room, heard that Sara was going to play the piano and quickly started preparing the accompaniment pedal.
After Sara finished adjusting the chair height, Marquis Grandchester entered the room with a light knock.
"Today, Sara's going to play the piano, huh..."
"Yes. I invited you to listen, Grandfather. Thank you for coming."
"It's not bad to listen to my granddaughter's practice results every once in a while."
Sara sat down and began to play the piano. Of course, with the moonlight in the background, it was just like before.
This time, she called out to the fairies to gather and asked them to emit light so that others could see. The piano sound and the light combined to create a fantastical scenery that was not just in Sara's imagination. In Sara's eyes, small animals were dancing and flying around, but to others, it looked like the light of fireflies.
The first movement began quietly, but the performance gradually grew more intense. Eventually, the melody returned to a gentle tone, and the music softly came to an end.
Even after the music stopped, there was no applause. Sara, worried that she might not have impressed the audience, glanced around at the crowd. Everyone was stunned, including Rebecca, who had heard her play before, and the 2 maids. Her grandfather and Robert must have been shocked as well.
"Sara... what's going on here? Am I dreaming or something?"
"This is unbelievable... Sara playing the piano like that... and a song I've never heard before!"
Sara stood up and approached her grandfather, speaking to him in a gentle voice.
"How was it?"
"I don't have the words to describe it. It was amazing, but that's not enough."
"I'm glad you liked it."
Marquis looked at Sara with a troubled expression.
"Do you have something you want to tell me?"
"Yes, grandfather."
"Go ahead and say it."
Sara couldn't tell Juliette, so she had Maria stay behind with her.
"Firstly, my magic attributes... apart from the ones I reported earlier, I've also developed light and darkness attributes. I sense that I might have a wood attribute as well. I'm not sure what kind of magic has no attributes, but it's likely to be all attributes."
"!?"
"And I've received the blessing of the fairies. The light flying around this room right now is all thanks to them."
"What in the world...?"
Marquis was left speechless, and Robert added more fuel to the fire.
"Father, it's not just that. It turns out Sara is also the one who introduced new accounting methods and ledgers. I was afraid of being opposed, so I kept it a secret from the bureaucrats. I apologize."
"Are you kidding me?!"
In an instant, Marquis's anger flared up. However, he looked at Robert's calm and collected gaze, and realized that his words were not a lie.
"Could it be... is that really Sara?"
"I can understand the unbelievable feeling. I, too, am still bewildered, just like those bureaucrats."
Sara had been keeping silent, daring to wait until Marquis calmed down, but during that time, the fairies continued to flit about the room, and a soft light danced around Sara.
"It's an unbelievable sight, isn't it..."
As Marquis gently stretched out his hand, a soft light descended onto his palm. In Sara's eyes, it looked like Mike was curled up and relaxing on her grandfather's hand.
"That's my friend, the fairy on Grandfather's hand. It's been by my side since before I came to the Grandchester household. I myself only recently became able to see it."
"Is that so... was it really like that..."
Suddenly, Marquis let out a laugh. And then he dropped a shocking bombshell on Sara.
"Sara, are you a reincarnator?"
