Volume 3 Chapter 58 Catherine - Sachie And The Heroine -

※So, about the muscle photos... In the chaos, the Marquis family has already taken them back. Somehow, Randy and the others' n*kedness was protected.

Now, let's get to the main story.

 Catherine Evans.

Actually, her real name is Sano Sachie. Sachie, who died young, found herself reincarnated in the same world as the games she loved when she was alive.

Seeing her young self in the mirror, Catherine felt overjoyed. It was just like something she had seen in stories. She had finally been reincarnated in the world she always wanted.

In her past life, Sachie was just an ordinary girl, like anyone else.

She had a few friends, but sometimes she felt lonely and unhappy with reality. To escape those feelings that everyone has, she enjoyed games and stories. She was just a normal girl.

But maybe the difference was that Sachie got too absorbed in it.

Gradually, she started to struggle with the gap between being a game main character and real life, and she began to think she should be in the game world.

Then, Sachie's life ended suddenly, and she was reincarnated in the game world, just as she wished. It was a huge joy for her.

However, this was just a reality that looked like a game world. Sachie didn't know that when any ideal becomes real, unfairness hits hard. Without realizing this, she would come to believe she was the chosen main character.

But Sachie only realized this when it was too late.

An ordinary girl slowly started to change into a self-centered person because she felt special. This was proof that this world was real. The environment of this world influenced Sachie, and she began to change little by little.

She believed she was special. She thought she was chosen and aimed to be a character loved by everyone. Not just the main characters, but also the rival villainesses.

But this is reality. Elizabeth, who had lived in this world, wouldn't be swayed by the strange actions of a confused girl. This was the first time Sachie faced the unfairness of reality.

Sachie quickly concluded it was the "game's force" and, out of spite, tried to bring Elizabeth down. When that worked, it only deepened her misunderstanding.

She thought she was the main character of this world.

But that wasn't true. In reality, everyone is living their own story as the main character. No one can be the main character of the world. Sachie had buried the experiences she had in her past life.

Now, the environment of this world and the monster named Catherine, created by Sachie, began to influence the world in return... Just like Sachie changed, Dario, who was close to her, started to grow his pride, and Chris began to embrace darkness, each walking a life completely different from the game.

The cruel truth of reality peeked through the cracks.

Still, her ugly obsession with being the main character in the game world finally led to a serious situation.

Yes... She was put under house arrest in the Royal Palace as an important witness in the attempted assassination of the Crown Prince.

While Sachie, or Catherine, was under house arrest, a big event was coming to an end without her knowledge. An event that was moving forward and about to end without the main character.

It's pretty sad for a main character, but reality is tough, and no one cared about Catherine as things moved on.

The attempted assassination of the Crown Prince by the Church's upper management shook not just the capital but the entire continent.

While Catherine was under house arrest, the citizens of the capital started a protest, and the knights conducted a major raid on the Cathedral, capturing the Pope and Cardinal.

As the trial approached, Catherine was finally released and was on her way home in a carriage.

──Saint Catherine Evans. Were you also being manipulated like Chris?

With the Minister of Justice's statement leaving no room for argument, Catherine could only nod in silence.

Of course, she realized that all of this was just a show. The moment they said "just like Chris," Catherine understood. Chris wasn't being controlled either.

Still, it was clear that saying both of them were being controlled would benefit the kingdom. That's why Catherine asked Chris's dad, Minister of Justice Abel, to let her talk to Chris.

But Abel threw some cold words at her.

──Isn't this all because you broke up the relationship between His Highness and Miss Elizabeth? Don't think you can get close to Chris, or even them, again.

Catherine found it hard to understand that the ban on contacting Edgar and the others went all the way back to that broken engagement. But there was one thing she could think of.

Unlike in the game, Chris was happily helping to corner Elizabeth. So, she kept asking herself if the failed assassination attempt on the Crown Prince was because she had acted too hastily about the broken engagement, and if it had a bad effect on Chris.

 "Is it really... my fault?"

The words she whispered weighed heavily on Catherine.

Her aching stomach reminded her that she had been making wrong choices and that this was reality.

She wasn't the main character; she was just a girl living in this world.

Even though she had the title of Saint, it was just a fake title that no one would care about if the Church fell apart.

If that fake title disappeared... all that would be left of Sano Sachie was Catherine Evans, an empty girl.

She was supposed to be the main character, but now she found herself pushed to the corner of the world, and her fake title was falling apart.

She didn't know what to do anymore. She felt helpless.

No, she absolutely couldn't accept that. Catherine Evans was the main character and a beloved heroine. She wouldn't kneel down here. So, not yet... she hadn't lost.

As long as she didn't admit defeat, she wouldn't lose. She kept telling herself that, but she didn't realize it was just escaping reality. Or maybe she just didn't want to understand.

Now, Catherine, or Sachie, was lost in her thoughts as she stared blankly out the window. Outside, she could hear about the new camera and photos developed by Marquis Braubelg.

 "Camera and photos..."

Sachie heard something she didn't want to hear: "Actually, it seems the Marquis's daughter developed it."

 "Elizabeth... Elizabeth, Elizabeth, Elizabeth! E, L, I, Z, A, B, E, T, H!"

Blood dripped from her bitten lip.

That woman who had treated her coldly.

The woman who had rejected her when she tried to get close.

Everyone loved and praised her. That was the place where she was supposed to be, but Elizabeth took it all away.

It was pure jealousy, but she wasn't in a situation to think clearly.

 The heroine was being cornered.

The final boss was succeeding and being praised by everyone.

This couldn't be right. It had to be a mistake. This was a dream, and Sachie fell into complete confusion, shouting, "Aaaah!"

The coachman, surprised by her shout, slowly stopped the carriage and asked, "W-what's wrong?"

Sachie, with her hair all messy, jumped out of the slowing carriage.

 "M-Milady! Where are you──?"

Ignoring the panicked voice of the coachman, Sachie took off running at full speed. The light rain didn't matter. She didn't care if her hair got wet or her dress got dirty; she was heading to Elizabeth's place, which she had looked up before.

She tripped over a bump in the ground and dove straight into a puddle on the cobblestone street.

Her face got wet, and her cheek scraped against the ground.

Still, Sachie kept running, not caring about anything. Was it jealousy or anger that made her move? Anyway, she dashed through the city, driven by her feelings, and saw Elizabeth and a guy she was with just about to enter the gate.

 "Elizabethhhhhh!"

Sachie shouted from deep in her stomach, splashing through the heavy rain as she ran toward Elizabeth.

 "You, you just──."

As Sachie raised her voice, she slipped and fell hard on the wet cobblestones.

 "Are you okay?"

Elizabeth rushed over, but Sachie yelled, "Don't touch me!" and pushed her hand away.

"Why... why is it just you..."

Tears started to fall from Sachie's eyes. Her cheeks were covered in blood and mud, and her forehead had a big cut that was bleeding a lot.

"Why? Why can't I do anything right..."

Sachie cried loudly without caring who saw, and Elizabeth looked back at her guy friend, worried.

 "No-contact order, okay?"

Elizabeth's friend shook his head coldly, and Elizabeth bowed her head, saying, "Randy, please."

"No way. She brought this on herself."

Randy, Elizabeth's friend, stubbornly refused to agree. Still, Elizabeth pleaded, "Please. If we leave her here...," her eyes glistening as she approached him.

 "Tch... fine, whatever."

With a sigh, the big guy grabbed Sachie by the neck.

"Don't cry here. You're bothering everyone."

 "Let me go! I'm..."

 "Shut up."

The big red-haired guy frowned and shouted, "You're really hurt. Get treated and then go home!" He was loud, trying to keep up appearances, but Sachie didn't understand any of that. She just kept struggling, yelling, "Let me go! You guys──"

But she was too weak. Even though she kept squirming, Sachie was taken into Elizabeth's house.
