Volume 1 Chapter 75 The Battle In Kirschtein's Town
The vines tightened around me, and Sir Roxas slowly grabbed them.
In an instant, the vines began to wither.
They weren't plant vines, but they shriveled up like one and fell away from my body.
"Lydia, are you okay?"
Sir Roxas caught my swaying body.
I held my throat and coughed lightly.
"...Woman. I don't care who you are. You killed my parents and deceived the people── you hurt my Lydia."
Mr. Lucian said in a voice as cold as ice.
"My──what do you mean by that?"
"Who said you belong to anyone?"
And even colder than Mr. Lucian, were the voices of Sir Rail and Sir Ciel.
"...It's the first time I've seen Sir Rail and Sir Ciel this angry."
But I wondered if they were angry at Mr. Lucian.
I whispered while calming my breath in Sir Roxas's arms.
I was okay now, but Sir Roxas was holding me so tightly that it was a bit hard to breathe.
"However, I agree. You hurt my princess. You deserve to die a thousand deaths."
"Yes... The crime of hurting my precious friend is severe."
It felt like the air had frozen with tension in the hall.
'Do you think you can win against me? Ah, how interesting.'
Eiris said flatly. Despite the word "interesting," her voice remained emotionless.
A sinister aura spilled out at my feet.
The ground splits open, and thick vines start to grow out. The ground shakes.
A thick, long vine like a giant tree breaks through the ceiling. Huge debris falls from the broken ceiling.
Sir Ciel's protective barrier wraps around us, and all the rubble that hits it disappears.
The ceiling vanishes, revealing the blue sky.
Eiris rises up, her massive body unfolding. Judal is sitting on her shoulder, looking cramped.
Surrounded by the thick vines, Eiris looks even bigger than when she was in the underground waterway.
From where we are, we can only see her thick legs.
"Roxas, take care of the princess. I'm heading out now."
Sir Rail says with a somehow cheerful voice.
"Only by defeating this giant creature will my name echo through the world."
With that, Sir Rail hides his face with the fox mask he was wearing.
He easily uses the vines as a foothold and jumps into the air.
Cutting through the attacking vines, he runs at incredible speed up to Eiris's face.
Sir Ciel teleports us from the underground plaza to the surface.
The sudden appearance of the giant woman in Kirschtein's town feels like a nightmare.
I can hear the screams of people running in panic.
With just a wave of her hand, Eiris effortlessly destroys houses.
She reaches out and easily tears apart the castle in the center of Kirschtein.
"Ha, ha! Go for it, Eiris! There's no need to hide anymore, destroy everything! Crush those Bernard people!"
Judal's loud laughter echoes.
"Why... do the people of the town have to suffer, even though they have nothing to do with this..."
"Anger and hatred cloud my vision. I can't think about anything except for myself and the person I hate. The sacrifices that come with revenge are just numbers. It doesn't matter if there are many victims or just a few. Individuals are lost."
When Mr. Lucian threw the necklace into the sky, its shape changed.
It became the dragon-shaped floating magic stone device, Fafnir, and Mr. Lucian easily jumped onto it.
"Lydia. I will definitely win. With you, the goddess of victory, by my side."
"Mr. Lucian... the same old Mr. Lucian..."
I smiled at Mr. Lucian, who was saying his usual lighthearted things.
I had always been angry, but now, the usual Mr. Lucian makes me a little happy.
"Ms. Lydia. ...This time, I think I'll be a bit serious."
"Sir Ciel...! That monster said she was the witch's daughter. ...Please, be careful."
"Yes. I'm fine. I'm quite strong, despite how I look."
As Sir Ciel said this, he floated gently into the air.
While Sir Rail and Mr. Lucian were destroying the town and slashing at the giant black vines attacking us, a glowing red magic circle appeared around Sir Ciel, who floated in front of Eiris.
'You are... a gem person. A hated gem person. Even though we were born from the same mother, you dare to point your blade at me?'
"I have no words to speak with you."
Illuminated by the light of the magic circle, Sir Ciel looked very beautiful.
Beautiful, but a little scary.
"Circle around, circle around, oh pitiful soul, return to the white moon, scorched by the holy flame."
As he chanted like a song, light poured down from the sky.
It burned the black vines and scorched Eiris's body with white flames.
With her long hair flying wildly, Eiris struggled and thrashed. Each time she moved, the town crumbled around us.
"This is bad... The damage is too great."
Sir Rail said briefly, then called out, "Lucian!"
Mr. Lucian approached Sir Rail, who was jumping from the vines, using Fafnir.
Sir Rail grabbed onto Fafnir's legs and raised his hand in front of Eiris.
"Time magic, Water of Youth."
With those words, Eiris's giant form began to shrink.
The vines burned by Sir Ciel's flames disappeared, and in the center, a smaller Eiris curled up, as if a young child was falling asleep.
Next to her was Judal.
His robe was burned by the flames, but he seemed mostly unharmed, trying to escape while holding Eiris.
"Roxas. Steal time, but don't kill."
"Understood."
At Sir Rail's command, Sir Roxas's magic stole Judal's time.
He had already looked quite old, but now Judal became like a withered branch, unable to move.
