Volume 10 Chapter 30 Goodbye And Greetings
I changed into some cute and easy-to-move-in clothes and left Lobelia.
Over the past few days, I greeted Mx. Margaret with some cookies and also said hello to Mr. Tsukuyomi.
Both of them looked a bit worried and said, "See you later, Lyd-Lyd," and "Be careful, little lady".
I'm not actually going to the red moon yet, but since I don't know what might happen, it's important to say goodbye before heading out.
My mother and father also said, "Be careful," and "Lyd-Lyd, I'm worried".
After that, I greeted FraFra and her mother.
FraFra shouted, "Elder Sister, I want to go too! But I'll wait...!" while crying loudly and hugging me, and Ms. Soiree looked troubled and said, "I'm sorry, Lady Lydia".
I also went to see Olive and Doctor Michael.
I didn't go into details, but they both seemed to be doing well.
Olive said, "Big sister, make sure to come back to Lobelia," and Doctor Michael told me, "It might not help Ms. Lydia, but if you're in trouble with illness or injury, come right away.".
I felt a bit embarrassed being treated like I was going on a really far journey.
It was embarrassing, and it made me feel warm knowing there are people waiting for my return.
I think that's really a happy thing.
"Ms. Lydia, hello. This is rare, what's up?"
"Mr. Noctis, hello! I came to see Mr. Lucian."
"To the captain?"
"Sorry to interrupt you while you're working. Mr. Noctis, here, if you'd like to share with everyone... it's a box of lemon scones."
"Thank you! That makes me happy."
I headed to the royal palace's Leonsroar headquarters.
I actually wanted to say hello to Sir Ciel too, but when I went to the Mage's Guild first, Mr. Leavis said, "Sir Ciel is not available."
Whenever I thank Mr. Leavis for making clothes for Eir-Eir and the others, he smiles with a slightly scary face, looking a bit intimidating (he's a kind person, though) and says, 'I plan to sew Ms. Lydia's wedding dress as well.'
I'm grateful, but I wonder why he's being so nice to me. Then he told me, 'It's only natural to serve your favorite.'
I didn't quite understand, but I handed him a gift of tea and scones anyway.
"Lydia. How unusual! I mean, it's the first time you've come here."
Mr. Noctis guides me to Mr. Lucian, who is working in his office.
Mr. Lucian looks up from his desk and rushes over to me when he sees me.
Next to me, everyone is riding on Mer-Mer, who has grown to the size of a large dog.
It seems Mer-Mer can change its size at will.
The small Mer-Mer looks like a fox, but when it gets a bit bigger, it feels a little like a dragon.
When everyone sees Mr. Lucian's face, they wave one hand and say, 'Hello!'.
"Sorry to interrupt you while you're working, Mr. Lucian."
"Don't worry about it. You're always welcome. You could come every day if you wanted to."
"Hehe, thank you!"
Mr. Lucian is always so dramatic.
I covered my mouth to stifle a laugh.
When he gently patted my head, I squinted my eyes.
It feels nice to be patted on the head, but I wonder if it's okay.
Even though I was just confessed to by Sir Ciel──what does it mean to be patted by Mr. Lucian? But I haven't told anyone about Sir Ciel's confession.
──I shouldn't be worrying about that right now.
I came to see Mr. Lucian for a specific reason.
"Mr. Lucian, I have a favor to ask."
"Anything you ask, I'll listen. What's up? Is it about going to the red moon? If that's the case, it seems Ciel is still looking into Sylphina and the Wilshark mansion──originally the place that was Kirschtein's castle."
"Sir Ciel..."
I puffed out my cheeks. He went off alone again, even after all that fighting.
"You don't have to be so mad. This time he's just investigating, so it's not dangerous, and Wilshark is Ciel's stepbrother. He probably needed to discuss Edelstein and the Margrave Wisteria family too."
Mr. Lucian said, trying to mediate.
"And besides, you never know what might happen if he goes to the red moon. So, I think he wanted you to take a break for a while."
"...Yeah. But I'm worried."
"Is it because you like Ciel?"
"Eh... uh, well, that's, um..."
I blushed and looked down.
Mr. Lucian shouldn't know that I had confessed to Sir Ciel, but he spoke as if he did.
But I feel like I've been asked before if I liked Sir Ciel.
I thought I liked him as a friend, so I wasn't embarrassed at all.
Now, it feels a little different.
"That was just a joke. ...Lydia, so what's your request?"
"Y-yes. Um, I also want to know about Sylphina. I want to know her favorite food. If she ends up being forced to eat something she hates, she might get angry. If possible, I want to know something that would heal her heart."
"I think you could just wait for Ciel... but, yeah. There might not be any records left at Kirschtein's castle. There might actually be something left at the Moon Soul Cult's ruins. Should we go check it out?"
"Yes!"
I decided to head to the old Kirschtein, the place once called Abandoned Deusvia, with Mr. Lucian.
