Volume 6 Chapter 33 The Invasion Of The Corrupted

Volume 6 Chapter 33 The Invasion Of The Corrupted

The airship flies through the clear sky.

Below, there are forests, lakes, and mountains.

Looking down from the sky, it's not Sir Rail, but the world is so beautiful.

The world feels so big, and I feel so small.

The red moon and the white moon look close.

On the red moon is Sylphina, Eir-Eir, and Ms. Famine's mother.

She's trapped and crying red tears.

Suddenly, I notice that the two of them are also looking up at the red moon with me.

Their big eyes are watching the moon eagerly.

I hugged Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine tightly.

"Princess, stay close to Roxas! Roxas, I'm counting on you to steer!"

 "Sir Rail...?"

Sir Rail pulls out a short sword and runs to the front of the deck.

Above the mountains of Edelstein, monsters with wings are floating.

They have big eyes and mouths that look like they could swallow me whole, filled with sharp teeth.

From their huge faces, bat-like wings spread out.

They swarm in the sky, blocking the airship's path, like ants around a sugar cube.

 "Lydia, hide. It's okay."

Mr. Lucian hands me my dad, who he was carrying.

Then, he puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

I look up at Mr. Lucian, who seems calm and not in a hurry.

 "Mr. Lucian, what is that...?"

"Those are the corrupted ones. They're a type of flying monster. Monsters are fine. You can just fight without thinking too much."

 Mr. Lucian looks strangely happy.

Now that I think about it, Mr. Lucian likes to fight.

Sir Rail is also happily cutting down the corrupted ones that keep attacking from the front of the deck.

"Heh, ha ha ha...! Ciel, sending these weaklings at me, you must have forgotten how strong I am as a hero! You're a fake! The real Ciel would know that a swarm of corrupted ones wouldn't even slow me down!"

As Sir Rail kicks off the deck and floats into the air, he slashes at the incoming corrupted ones with his short swords.

Laughing loudly, he uses the corrupted ones as a platform to jump even higher.

He spins in the air and swings his swords down at the corrupted ones with their mouths wide open.

Like a beam of light, he cuts through the line of corrupted ones and returns to the deck, lightly swinging his swords.

The corrupted ones burst apart from the inside and disappear into mist.

"Brother, you look alive. Maybe it's because you don't have to wear a mask anymore."

"Speaking of which, you're not wearing the fox mask anymore, Sir Rail..."

I say this while sneaking behind Sir Roxas, who is holding the steering wheel.

Sir Rail always hid his face during times like this. Now, the fox mask is off.

I don't know how wide the view is with the mask, but it seems easier to fight without it.

 "Sir Ciel, a fake..."

I think about Sir Rail's words and smile.

 Yeah, that's right.

It must be a fake. Someone who isn't Sir Ciel is pretending to be him.

If Sir Ciel is the one sending these monsters to attack us, he wouldn't be able to control them.

"Sir Rail, please leave some for me. I was only able to run away earlier, so I'm a bit stressed."

Mr. Lucian takes off his necklace and throws it into the sky.

In an instant, Fafnir appears, and Mr. Lucian easily jumps onto its back.

He pulls out his sword, rises into the air, and skillfully controls Fafnir to cut down the corrupted ones.

 "...Alexandria's Saint."

 I hear a cool voice.

I look around to find the source of the voice.

Behind the disappearing corrupted ones, Sir Ciel is floating.

His black robe flutters in the wind, and his beautiful hair, like it's sprinkled with jewels, sways in the breeze.

 "Sir Ciel...!"

 "Lydia, wait! Stay here!"

"Sorry, I have to talk to Sir Ciel...!"

Ignoring Sir Roxas's stop, I ran over to Sir Ciel. When I got to the front of the deck where Sir Rail was, he caught me with one arm and protected me.

"Princess, you're going to fall. Calm down."

 "Pumpkin pudding!"

 "Tarte Tatin..."

With Sir Rail, Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine worriedly called out to me.

In front of the crowd of dark creatures that were collapsing, Sir Ciel was looking at me with a cold stare.
