Volume 6 Chapter 47 Sylphina And Gem's People

Volume 6 Chapter 47 Sylphina And Gem's People

Seeing Sylphina, Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine returned to my arms.

They trembled slightly, looking scared, but their eyes were glistening with sadness as they watched Sylphina standing by the window.

"...Even though Sylphina and God Theobart loved each other, why does God Theobart cherish Goddess Alexandria?"

Sylphina's world was once filled with hope and brightness.

The vibrant flowers in the garden bloomed just for her.

 But now, it's different.

The world reflected in Sylphina's eyes is dull and gray.

The garden flowers, the clear sky, the paintings in the room, and the flowers in the vase have all lost their color.

"Nothing lasts forever. Happiness, peace, love... they wear out and fade with time, changing just like flowers eventually wilt. ...But I think not everything has to be that way."

Watching Sylphina gaze longingly and painfully at the loving God Theobart and Goddess Alexandria, Mr. Lucian said.

 With time, some things change.

 I understand that.

Not long ago, I was all alone.

But now, everyone is here. So many people are with me.

Because of that, I neglected Sir Ciel for a moment. People can easily hurt each other.

So I don't want to make mistakes anymore.

Did God Theobart not notice Sylphina's sadness?

 It's so painful, so heart-wrenching.

Sylphina's emotions felt like they were filling my chest. My heart felt like it was being squeezed, it hurt.

"If Alexandria is the goddess who descended to this land, then it's understandable for King Theobart to prioritize her, considering his position."

"Is it just a duty, then...?"

"If protection and love have turned into romantic feelings between a man and a woman, then I think that's foolish. It seems Theobart made a mistake about what to prioritize and what to cherish."

Sir Ciel lowered his gaze and shook his head lightly.

Suddenly, it felt like the scenery had changed.

But we were still in the same room. The view outside the window had changed. The flowers in the garden had turned into autumn blooms.

Not only that, but the room also felt a bit messy.

Dust had gathered in the corners of what used to be a clean room, and there were no flowers in the vase.

The curtains were torn, and feathers from a ripped cushion were scattered on the floor.

It was as if a storm had hit the room. Anxiety crawled up from my feet. I tightly grasped Sir Ciel's arm. He held my hand as if to say it was okay.

Eir-Eir burrowed into my chest, and Ms. Famine wrapped around my neck.

It was as if both of them wanted to hide their faces, not wanting to see what was about to happen.

Mr. Lucian stepped forward to shield me.

On the bed in the room, Sylphina was sleeping. Her face seemed much more haggard than before.

Her belly had grown quite large, and I could hear her labored breathing.

"I'm scared to get close to Lady Sylphina's room."

"Sir Theobart keeps pushing Lady Sylphina onto us while he just hangs around the White Moon Palace with Lady Alexandria."

"They say Kirschtein people use terrifying heretical magic, and it's true."

"How many times has magic gone out of control this month? Do you know how many maids have quit due to injuries?"

"Marrying a princess from Kirschtein is what leads to this. Those creepy monster users. That baby in her belly must be a monster's child."

"God Theobart can't possibly love Lady Sylphina. It was her familiar that got her pregnant."

From behind the door, whispers from what seemed to be maids could be heard.

Sylphina could hear them too. The maids were talking loudly on purpose.

Even though she heard terrible words, Lady Sylphina, looking worn out yet full of love, was gently rubbing her belly.

"Very soon, very soon... I can't wait to meet you. My dear child with God Theobart..."

Ah, I don't want to see what comes next.

 It's scary.

But I need to know. I feel like I have to know.

 Eir-Eir, Ms. Famine, Eirnelys.

Sylphina has been carrying her pain, sadness, anger, and hatred all alone.

It's too much for one person to bear, and now I've inherited it from Sylphina.

 And then──

Sylphina gave birth to a baby.

The child was made entirely of minerals. A beautiful baby from the Gem's People.

 "...monster."

When God Theobart received the news of the birth, he came to see Sylphina.

And upon seeing the newborn and Sylphina's happy smile after a long time, he threw harsh words at her.

"This is not my child. Sylphina, did you give birth to a monster? Disgusting. Dispose of it immediately."

"No, no! Please, stop! Don't take my child away, please, stop...!"

Despite Sylphina's desperate pleas, the baby was taken away and carried off somewhere.

Sylphina, sobbing, tore at her beautiful golden hair.

 "My baby... my..."

How did it come to this?

When she married into Kirschtein, I thought the world was full of happiness.

To end the long-standing conflict between Kirschtein and the barbarians, a marriage was arranged.

The nameless barbarians. A small country on the edge of Kirschtein had tried many times to take Kirschtein's land.

At first, she really didn't want this.

She didn't want it, but God Theobart was such a wonderful person that she found herself falling in love.

I thought her love, this feeling, would last forever.

 "...I'll kill you."

 Sylphina muttered softly.

Something precious was taken from her.

 It was killed.

So, she can kill too. She can take back what was stolen from her, Alexandria──.

 "Mother, how sad."

 Mother is pitiful.

And the Gem's People who were killed are also pitiful.

Mother, locked away in the prison of the red moon, has been dreaming for a long time.

Repeating the same dream, over and over.

She was born from the dream of her mother.

She is Eirnelys. The third daughter of the Witch who governs death by disease.

The eldest, Eiris, was not very bright.

The second, Famine, thought she was the best.

 She was given a role.

She must protect the Gem's People, whom her mother loved.

They are the children her mother cherished. Born from her, she must fulfill her wishes.

The Gem's People on the surface are the children her mother created. They are different from other monsters.

The surface belongs to her mother. It belongs to the Gem's People, her children.

And she will erase those who have done terrible things.

 "...You are."

The Gem's People look surprised as she fall from the sky in front of them.

"I am the prophet Eirnelys, here to protect and guide you. From today, I will look after you."

She descended into the town of the Gem's People.

To fulfill her mother's wishes. To turn the surface into a paradise for her mother.
