Volume 6 Chapter 55 Everyone Has Foods They Dislike

Volume 6 Chapter 55 Everyone Has Foods They Dislike

The cream plopped down, stopping the soldiers and the horses in their tracks.

Cream splattered on my hair, nose, shoulders, and arms.

Sir Ciel, who always looks so neat and calm, had sweet cream dripping on his hair and face, all over his body.

I scooped up the gooey, sweet cream that fell with a splat and took a bite.

It was rich and sweet. My tired body felt like it was being healed.

 "Hehe..."

 I couldn't help but giggle a bit.

The people from Gem's People, the soldiers from Wisteria, the broken town, the cracked earth, and the two airships stuck in the ground were all covered in fluffy cream, like a blanket of snow.

It looked like a giant cake.

 "Pumpkin pudding."

 "Tarte tartan."

 "...fried horse mackarel."

Just then, Eir-Eir popped her head out from between my breasts, and somehow Ms. Famine and a floppy-eared pink rabbit also popped up, bouncing around before diving into the sea of cream with a splash.

Sure, my chest is a bit bigger, but I didn't think I could fit that many things in there.

Eir-Eir could fit, but Ms. Famine and the bunny definitely couldn't.

I glanced down at the cleavage peeking out from my open dress.

"Sir Ciel, what should we do... there's a mysterious space between my breasts... is it some kind of illness...?"

"Ms. Eiris and Famine... and that rabbit, Eirnelys...? They seem to be using Ms. Lydia as a host. They look real, but they're not fully there... it's like half of them is inside Ms. Lydia."

"Lydia. Cover up your chest. Ciel, don't analyze so calmly. You should be more flustered and embarrassed in front of Lydia's lovely chest! Like Roxas!"

Sir Stefan spoke as if he was giving a perfect example, glancing over at Sir Roxas.

Sir Roxas stands there with his arms crossed, his glasses and clothes covered in whipped cream, staying quiet. He doesn't seem particularly flustered.

"Right now, Roxas has reached his breaking point and just fainted while standing."

Elder Brother Chrisrain reports the situation with a smile.

Then, he spreads his arms wide. Even though Elder Brother Chrisrain is slim, he looks much bigger when he opens his arms, thanks to the fluffy, large fur coat he's wearing.

"In a sea of whipped cream, continuing to fight is just ridiculous, don't you think? In Elgard, they say there's nothing more foolish than fighting. It destroys culture, dries up and pollutes the land, and makes you lose so much."

 "We can't back down now."

 "...That goes for us too."

Sir Galeon and Sir Filouz are glaring at each other.

The people from Gem's side never intended to fight from the start, and it seems like the soldiers from Wisteria have also lost their fighting spirit.

"Can't back down? But nothing has even started yet. Look closely. What has your blood-related child achieved by risking their life? What has Lydia's power brought?"

Elder Brother Chrisrain's gaze turns to Sir Ciel.

Sir Ciel and I. And right in front of us, Eir-Eir and Ms. Famine, Nel-Nel are playfully rolling around, covered in whipped cream.

"Your child risked their life to protect this land. Ciel probably hates you. You haven't done a single thing to earn Ciel's favor. But still, he protected everything. He was just a step away from death, and it was a dangerous gamble."

I remember how Sir Ciel looked just a moment ago.

He seemed so fragile, like he would shatter if touched.

I tightly hold Sir Ciel's hand, and he squeezes back reassuringly.

The fear of losing life sticks in my memory, but I can think that it's okay now.

"Ciel could have chosen to protect only what is important to him. That would have been a much easier way for Ciel. But he didn't do that. ...Ciel, who chose to protect everything, is much more mature than you all."

Elder Brother Chrisrain continues, sounding exasperated.

"I don't eat food I dislike. But just because I dislike something, I don't go around killing the people who serve it, burning down shops, or setting fire to fields. If you hate fish, would you dry up the sea? If you hate mushrooms, would you burn down the mountains? If you hate carrots, would you set all the carrot fields on fire? You all are trying to do that."

"Have you ever experienced having something precious taken from you, Chrisrain?"

"Do you understand the cries of Gem's People?"

"I don't know, and I don't care. But even if something precious was taken from me, I wouldn't try to wipe out carrots. Ciel feels the same way. And because of that Ciel, everyone, Lydia... gave blessings and love."

Elder Brother Chrisrain scoops some whipped cream that fell on his nose with his finger and licks it.

"Not too sweet, just right. It's delicious, try it. Cooking is love. It forgives everything, heals, loves. Doesn't your heart move with deep kindness and affection? Seeing such a scene, do the stubborn old folks still hate each other?"

He sighs deeply, then shifts from his calm tone to a cold voice.

"Among those here, I am the oldest. What have you seen and what have you thought while living?"

A chill runs down my spine.

I feel a strange tension. Elder Brother Chrisrain is usually cheerful, but he is also the Crown Prince of Elgard Kingdom. There is an overwhelming dignity about him.

"...Chrisrain. Thank you. The rest is up to me."

Sir Stefan looked at Sir Galeon and Sir Filouz, who had fallen silent as if pressured, and then spoke up.

"Arrest Galeon for not obeying the royal command, treating him as a traitor to the Bernard royal family. Filouz is also to be arrested for putting the Kingdom in danger. Lord Marx..."

Sir Marx, who had been quietly watching the situation unfold, nodded deeply.

"Yes, Your Majesty. As you wish."

"Lucian, Rail. Capture the two of them. Also, anyone who resists."

 Sir Stefan gave the order.

And so, Sir Galeon and Sir Filouz were captured.

It was sad that things had come to this. There was no way to make up.

I watched the scene, feeling a sense of helplessness, accepting that sometimes things just happen this way.

But, since Sir Ciel was holding my hand, and Eir-Eir, Ms. Famine, and Nel-Nel were playfully frolicking around, I didn't cry, even though I felt that sadness.
