Guy let out a dumbfounded noise.
He finally noticed—his entire shoulder, the one attached to the arm holding Suzu, was gone.
Completely vanished.
Tch.
I missed by a little.
"Oh my, failing right after talking big? How embarrassing," Ferron sighed, sounding thoroughly unimpressed.
"G-Gyaaaaaaah!!"
That snapped him out of it.
He dropped Minori, who he'd been holding in his right hand, and clutched at his bleeding left side, screaming like his life depended on it.
(Which, honestly, it probably did.)
But me?
I'd burned through every last drop of my Magic Power firing off that high-output technique.
My legs gave out, and I dropped to my knees.
"Ugh...ggh..."
"Mr. Ryuuji! Are you alright?"
"Yeah... just... had my Magic Power... taken away..."
I forced a wry smile, wiping away the sweat on my brow as I spoke to the frantic Lene.
The <Magic Stone of Sigmund> is a magic stone named after the god of light, Sigmund, that fires a beam of light which erases anything it touches.
As you can see, its power is immense, but──the problem is, it has the drawback of completely draining the Magic Power in the user's body, making it difficult to use.
"Magic Power, huh! I'll get you some medicine right away!"
Lene was rummaging around in her magic bag, but Guy wasn't the type to wait around.
He was consumed with rage, and as he grabbed his sword in his right hand, he began to approach us.
"You bastard! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll turn you into a magic crystal toooooo!"
As I struggled to stand up with my vision blurring, I took in Guy's words.

"Hey, Guy. You're not using people's lives to make those magic crystals, are you...?"
"Huh!? Who cares about that stuff!"
Guy, who isn't even bothering to respond to my words, slowly approaches.
If I can't move properly like this, things are going to get really bad...

The revived Minori, from behind Guy, unleashes a full-force <Pierce> and <Resist> attack.
But, thanks to those magic crystals, his physical defense has probably increased.
Guy, seemingly unaffected, clicks his tongue and turns around, slashing back at Minori.
But Minori isn't going to be caught off guard twice.

"Who's your woman, you creep? Go back to bed and dream that!"
Minori continues to attack Guy, her face clearly showing her disgust.
She usually has a shield, so she probably doesn't even think about blocking with her sword.
Guy, without a shield, can't withstand the attacks, and his remaining right arm is getting cut up.
But, those magic crystals were made using Sean's life?
They say that forbidden magic requires a sacrifice, so it's just as I thought.

The moment Lene spoke, something stabbed into my right shoulder as I watched Minori fight bravely.

Lene was holding a thick, tube-like object and smiling as she declared that.
My right shoulder throbbed, and blood was seeping out.

Guy has Minori under control, and I need to deal with that Ferron guy.
"...What? Ma, Marie!"
Following Lene's anguished cry, I saw Marie, her face contorted in agony, and Ferron, his hand raised towards her.

"Stay away from Marie!"

Ferron, with a thin smile, said something incredibly irritating.
Marie's body was bathed in the golden light emanating from the pendant hanging around her neck, glowing softly.
"Big Bro Ryuuji, Lene, Dark Mages use their words to deceive and manipulate life. Talking is pointless."
