Volume 1 Chapter 28 a Changing World. However, It Is Only the Fool Who Shows His Face That Changes
The deeper you go in the dungeon, the stronger the monsters get.
And the 'boss room' expands in size, proportional to the boss's power.
You can trash the place a bit, but the walls get fixed quick, just part of the 'dungeon rules'.
If it's a boss room far inside, and even more if it's off the 'common path', you can go wild without causing any trouble.
"Shick!"
Rangella swings her sword.
She wields a sword that shines with silver, dragon insignias etched into the blade, a hand-and-a-half sword (bastard sword), and she points it without hesitation at Horace, clad in 'Deus Ex Machina'.
With only a futuristic-looking one-handed sword in her right hand, she continues to dodge the strikes of the 'Dragon Silver Sword Tel Agatha'.
"Right there!"
Horace's side, Tiaris appears at a bit of a distance.
In her hands, she's gripping a revolver, firing off round after round of bullets made with compressed magic.
But Horace, while dodging Rangella's swordplay, knocks away every single bullet.
(...doesn't work, huh?)
Suddenly, Horace grabs Rangella by the chest.
Then, taking a step forward, he slams Rangella's back onto the ground.
"Gah!"
Getting up after slamming her down... there's no sword in Horace's hand.
"Ack!"
Tiaris lets out a scream.
Her belly has the mechanical sword colliding with it.
But it doesn't pierce through her maid outfit at all, not even sinking into her skin.
Instead, 'pressure' builds up, and Tiaris is blown backward.
She rolls on the ground, ends up on her back, clutching her stomach.
"..."
When Horace wiggles his fingers, the sword returns to his hand.
"I get that you want practice with the gear that took down Gai Gigant, but when you two can't even land a hit on me without it, you sure did talk big, huh?"
Taking out the cube from his left hip, he stores the armor away and looks over at Rangella.
"Uuh, ugh..."
He's drenched in sweat, using his sword like a staff to stand up, but his legs are all wobbly.
"Looks like I went a bit overboard. But hey, you're standing, so that's progress."
Horace flicks Rangella's forehead with his right hand.
"Ouch..."
Even after getting flicked, Rangella stands firm as if she was never wobbly a second ago.
"Tiaris... still seems like she can't handle it."
He steps over to Tiaris and snaps his fingers.
"Mmm! ...Hah, hah..."
Not sure how, but Tiaris' body jolts, and while catching her breath, she picks up a gun and stands up.
"I still can't beat you, Master."
"Well, I taught the 6 elites, including Rangella, all their combat skills. Plus, I can't lose to a girl ten years younger than me."
Horace is 27.
Rangella is 17.
Tiaris is 16.
"Phew... Astral Dragon Gai Gigant. If we had to face that on our journey, we would have been stuck for 2 months just trying to conquer it."
"True. That's why I'm curious about that weapon that 'overwhelmed' it, but it feels like we're nowhere near the bottom of it."
"Of course, it's my greatest masterpiece. It's only about 8% complete though."
"So when it's done, it'll be 12.5 times stronger? Honestly, I can't believe it."
"What kind of expectations do you have to reach that... well, we can't even imagine that part. Hah..."
Rangella and the others defeated the Demon Lord and saved the world.
Of course, along the way, they've encountered many 'powerful men under the Demon Lord's control' and fought to clear their path.
Thinking about it, they must have faced numerous top-level powerhouses in the world.
Yet, even with that experience, they are no match for Horace at all.
For the heroes like Rangella, Horace is still 'on another level.'
"Hey! Master!"
"Oh!"
When Horace and the others look toward the entrance of the boss room, 2 beautiful girls walk in.
"Ellie. Ramella. You're back!"
