Volume 6 Chapter 67 Bonus
The door slowly opened, and a man even bigger and more muscular than Randy emerged.
Randy felt like he recognized the man's messy brown hair and drooping eyes, but he couldn't quite place it.
(If he's bigger than me, I should remember him... And look at those clothes!)
Even from a distance, his fine clothes were obvious.
Randy was still in his training clothes, while the other man seemed to be wearing fine clothes for a fight.
That meant he was either a noble or someone rich.
All this information clicked in Randy's mind.
(Ah... I think I'm remembering something.)
It was on the tip of his tongue.
Just as Randy swallowed his frustration, the man in front of him looked at Randy and chuckled, "Heh."
"If it isn't the [Battle Demon]!"
The man's casual tone, despite his appearance, made Randy remember even faster.
The man was asking "Why are you here?", but Randy didn't care about that.
(Almost... I think it was...)
The man smirked as Randy frowned and grunted.
"What's wrong? Are you scared?"
The man's condescending tone made Randy finally remember who he was.
It was like a divine revelation.
"I remember! You're that guy, right?"
The man smiled happily as Randy's eyes widened in surprise, "Heh. You figured it out."
"Um... You know... that... the Count's son, or something?"
"Huh?"
Randy told the confused man that they had met at a party in the capital when Randy was young.
It was a memory of when Randy, still a child, attended a party hosted by the Grand Duke with his parents.
"You know. The guy who said, 'I'm not like you. I'm going to be big!'"
Remembering, it was a time when kids close in age gathered, each talking with a mix of subtle competition and childlike curiosity.
One boy proudly puffed out his chest and declared, "I'm going to be big!" It was about the man standing right in front of them.
That boy had striking features, with light brown hair and droopy eyes.
Randy, feeling thoughtful, nodded as he approached the man, thinking this outfit made sense for a noble.
"Wow, you really have grown... um, what was your name again?"
Randy patted the man's shoulder lightly.
The man looked confused, but as Randy kept asking, "But seriously, you're huge! What did you eat?" and patted his shoulder again and again, the man trembled and turned bright red.
"I know I'm big too, but when you get that big, everything has to be custom-made, right?"
Randy, nodding thoughtfully, suddenly focused on the man's clothes. "Wait a minute..."
"No way, this has to be off the rack, right?"
The clothes, slightly mismatched to the man's size, were definitely not custom-made.
Randy was shocked, frozen in place, thinking, "Seriously?"
He had never heard of ready-made clothes in such a size.
"W-who cares about the clothes!"
The man waved his hand roughly, making Randy pull back the hand he had reached out with, looking a bit disappointed.
"You have something to say other than about clothes!"
The man frowned, and Randy replied, "Well... that's true," placing his hand back on the man's shoulder.
"It's great to grow, but you're definitely going the wrong way with being big... um, what was it? Count something."
"What's that supposed to mean? Are you making fun of me?"
The man swatted Randy's hand away again and took a big step back.
"What do you mean, 'Count something'? You can't even remember!"
"No, I remember! It's right on the tip of my tongue..."
Randy pointed to his throat and said, "I'll remember it," while holding his head with one hand.
"I'm sure it's... Count Glamour!"
Randy had a smug look, but the man's face was full of confusion.
"Who's that? I've never heard of him."
"Huh? Was I wrong? I think he's the closest noble to the capital or something..."
Randy frowned, and the man couldn't help but think, "Close to the capital..."
"...Isn't that Count Grauber?"
"Yes, that!"
Randy clapped his hands and said, "Long time no see, son of Count Grauber," but the man jumped back in surprise.
"So you don't remember me at all! What do you mean 'son'?"
"Well, you didn't even introduce yourself back then!"
Randy shrugged, and the man shouted loudly, "That's not me!"
"Listen. I am Elliot!"
The man shouted his name, but Randy just blinked and said, "Elliot?"
It was no wonder.
Elliot, one of the Four Saints known as the Emerald Sage, was already dead in Randy's mind, slain by Rolf.
In fact, he didn't even remember the name Elliot.
Well, he might remember it, but the Elliot Randy knew was a man from the North, not someone from the South.
Besides, in Randy's mind, he was already dead and gone.
However, Elliot had his own reasons.
Due to a change in plans, the importance of Braubelg increased, and the Pilgrim of Truth had decided to send Elliot in.
But Randy didn't know any of this.
So he still thought of him as 'the son of Count Grauber'...
"I am Elliot. Don't you remember?"
"So that was your name. Elliot Bravo, huh? Nice name!"
Randy smiled, and Elliot's face turned bright red as he raised his voice.
"I told you that's not it! And I told you my name is Grauber, so why is it getting worse?"
A thick blue vein appeared on Elliot's temple.
"It's fine. Either way."
"It's not fine! I'm not a Grauber!"
The two stared at each other, the temperature between them so tense it felt like fog might form.
"Then who are you?"
"I told you, I'm Elliot! We met in Waldner!"
With spit almost flying from his mouth, Elliot shouted, and Randy thought again, "In Waldner?"
The man seemed to know him, but Randy honestly couldn't remember.
In fact, he could remember the face of the son of Count Grauber, even if it was a bit hazy.
"Are you feeling confident? Or are you trying to trick me?"
Randy shook his head, saying, "No, I really don't know," as Elliot began to calm down a bit.
"Alright then. Let me remind you,"
Elliot forced a smile and spread his massive arms wide.
"I am Elliot. The [Pilgrim of Truth], [Emerald Sage] Elliot."
With a sly grin, Elliot watched as Randy furrowed his brow and asked, "Sage?"
"Dressed like a musclehead, I think you should skip the [Sage] part," Randy replied, looking exasperated.
Elliot seemed to freeze, completely enraged by Randy's expression.
After a moment of stillness, Elliot's anger boiled over, and he began to shake, letting out a creepy laugh, "Hehehe."
"I understand now... you are trying to disturb my calm."
"No, I really──"
"Enough! Just enough!"
Elliot shook his head vigorously and glared at Randy.
"You seem to be the key player... so I think I'll just kill you here."
With a murderous aura, Elliot began to walk slowly around Randy.
Elliot, regaining his composure, grinned as he measured the distance.
"If you want to apologize, I can make it quick... what will you do?"
"What do you mean..."
Randy frowned, and Elliot sighed.
"Alright. Let me change my words."
Elliot stopped dead in his tracks, radiating a fierce energy.
"In the end... do you have anything to say?"
Facing the misty figure of Elliot, Randy scratched his head and said, "Well..."
"...where did you buy that outfit?"
"I'LL KILL YOUUUUUUUUU!"
This was supposed to be a tense scene, but it turned out terrible, and it was scrapped for being too silly.
