"──I never had that kind of luxury."
Rai's words were heavy, more than Saria expected.
She sensed this weight and felt sorry for asking a careless question.
Saria Kawette didn't know much about Rai Conwell.
He didn't share much about himself.
Still, she picked up bits and pieces about him.
He was only 17 and had no family or home to return to.
He worked at the Holy Church, yet had no trustworthy friends.
With just this information, she could understand some things.
Saria realized she lived in a happy, blessed situation.
She understood it well from hearing stories of various guests at the "Donkey's Mane Inn."
She knew what it meant to be free of big debts, to be safe from crime, to not sell her body, to have choices, a home, and a family that smiled──true happiness.
Happiness that seemed like a simple miracle, always given to her.
And she noticed the boy in front of her lacked some simple happiness.
"──So, how about this?"
But she wasn't the type to feel sorry and get sad for him.
She stretched her hands and touched his face, gently but firmly turning his gaze towards her.
She wanted Rai to focus on the present, not the distant past.
"Let's make lots of happy memories from now on."
She said this seriously, looking straight at him.
"It can be anything──sleep in a little late some mornings, try a more expensive lunch, or buy some sweets on the way home."
"Wow, I'm only talking about food." She chuckled, slightly embarrassed.
"Just because you haven't done these things before doesn't mean you can't do them now. If you don't know how, I'll help you."
She wanted him to have peace in his heart and find simple happiness.
Saria wants to pick up what Rai has missed by rushing through life.
Is Rai Conwell saved by revenge or just a girl?
