Volume 4 Chapter 10 ACT.101 Holy Spring of Tears (I)
"Okay, here is our first tourist spot!"
Saria puts on a big smile, spreading her arms wide to show excitement.
With her dramatic gesture, she introduces the first place we arrived at.
"The Holy Spring of Tears!"
This is a strange spring, one of Benetonash's famous sights.
It's about 20 meters wide and almost round, with blue water bubbling up in several spots.
Yes, blue.
The water looks like a see-through blue paint.
"This spring came from the tears of the Goddess when she banished the god who shared the world. Or something like that?"
Saying this, Saria pulls Rai into the crowd of tourists around the spring.
Standing at the edge, Rai looks into the water.
The color of the water is too blue to really be tears.
"If this is really tears, it seems a bit fake or silly,"
Rai almost says this out loud but quickly stops himself.
He knows it's dangerous to talk against the Goddess of the Holy Church in this place.
Still, he thought of the Goddess looking like Saint Stella, which makes him uneasy.
Saint Stella cares for Rai, but her true feelings are as unclear as this spring.
That's why Rai can't shake off his distrust of her.
And the relationship between Saints and the Goddess in the Holy Church is...
"But still, it's really strange,"
Just as Rai's thoughts stray to Saint Stella, Saria pulls him back to reality with her voice.
"No one did anything, and it's naturally this color?"
Saria speaks to Rai, looking curious and a bit excited.
Rai remembers hearing a colleague talk about this spring's water before.
"I heard that this water has──"
"The water from the holy spring has a tiny bit of metal in it, which makes this color by bending the light."
Rai's words get interrupted.
The two, surprised, turn to the voice and see a playful young man.
Noah Lowe, who is Rai's older junior and coworker, winks at Rai.
