"You're late. Looks like you had a lot of fun with her, huh?"
As Alfonso returned to the room, Belta greeted him with a sarcastic remark.
"If you really look like that, you should see a doctor."
"Just kidding. You look like you've been roughed up by a lion cub."
Belta couldn't help but let out a laugh at the sight of Alfonso, covered in dust and bruises.
Alfonso, though he furrowed his brow at his colleague's reaction, was too tired to argue.
He plopped down onto a chair in a messy heap.
"So, did you get any useful information from Rize?"
"Hm!"
Prompted for results, Alfonso tossed a package to him.
"The swordsmen have been taking these every day on orders from above."
Belta unwrapped the package and picked up the white pill, examining it closely.
He couldn't recall any reports or shared information about these pills.
"──This isn't good, giving their comrades some strange drug."
Belta's beautiful face contorted into an ugly, monstrous grin.
"Your mask is slipping, former prince."
"Oops, my apologies."
Belta covered his mouth at Alfonso's reminder.
Nevertheless, he carefully put the pill back in the wrapper and tucked it away in his pocket.
"I'll look into this."
Though he wasn't sure what it was, Alfonso thought that if this was something *significant*, the one who gave the orders wouldn't get off easily.
He watched Belta with half-closed eyes.
It wasn't just Belta's concern; the Purge Knights were *relentless* against their enemies.
Among them, Belta had a particularly underhanded approach.
Hoping it wasn't something sinister, Alfonso spoke up.
"Please, I'm hungry. Can I have some food──"
"No way."
Just as Alfonso, driven by unexpected hunger, brought up dinner, Belta shot down the idea with a harshness that seemed almost eager.
"Why not?!"
Alfonso stood up from his chair, protesting, but Belta silenced him with a finger to his lips and smiled.
"Let's work overtime together, shall we?"
He smiled like he was teasing a naughty friend, spinning a brand-new brass key around his index finger.
