Volume 7 Chapter 9 After all, Prototyping Is the Most Fun, Right?

Volume 7 Chapter 9 After all, Prototyping Is the Most Fun, Right?

After asking the maids to prepare what was needed, Randy finished setting up in the second-floor hall just as Liz and Ellie appeared, dressed in their one-piece outfits.

The frilly collar and hem fluttering gently, the girly white one-piece belonged to Ellie.

The sleeves made of sheer material were eye-catching, but the overall design was simple and elegant; the black maid dress was Liz's.

"Looking sharp. Both suits you perfectly."

Randy groaned with satisfaction as Liz and Ellie shamefully lowered their gaze. The 3 elders watched their reactions with amusement, while Clarice alone was excited by the fact that the dresses she had designed with Madame were accentuating Liz and Ellie's beauty.

 "You look lovely, Elder Sisters!"

Clarice's cheerful bounce naturally brought smiles to the faces of the two.

 "Alright, let's do this──"

Randy clapped his hands and pulled out a camera from his magic bag.

 "Do what──?"

"I said a photoshoot. Stand over there."

Randy pointed to the spot in front of the pristine white curtain that the maids had prepared. Ideally, he'd want a reflector board too, but for the prototype stage, he decided to prioritize getting the form right.

Still not quite understanding, Liz and Ellie stood in front of the curtain as Randy directed.

 "Who should go first?"

Randy turned the lens towards the two, who were tense.

 "Let's start with you, Liz."

 "Eh, wait──"

Liz flustered, but it was too late. Ellie had already discreetly slipped out of the lens's frame, leaving Randy the cameraman to smile at Liz through the viewfinder.

"Your expression is too stiff. Smile──"

At Randy's words, Liz shamefully blushed and looked down, her cheeks reddening as Randy snapped the shutter.

 "Good. You're cute!"

Calling out to Liz, he took another shot,

 "Perfect! Look this way"

After snapping the shutter, Randy calls out to Liz. No matter what he captures or from what angle, he can't stop spouting off lines like "cute, amazing, goddess" with a cheesy grin, while Liz's embarrassed smile seems to say, "Oh, it's all just empty flattery."

"Good, good. You're relaxing a bit. Next up is Ellie."

 "Oh, me too?"

"What's there to be shy about? You're plenty cute, just hurry up."

Ellie's face turns red as she replaces Liz in front of the camera.

"Clarice, can you fix Liz's hair? We're shooting outside next."

 "Understood!"

 "S-Still going?"

Liz's voice echoes, but Randy just waves her off and starts snapping shots of Ellie, calling out, "Yeah, cute!"

Thus began the bustling photo shoot, which later involved Grace, Flora, and several maids as subjects, moving from the mansion's dining room, to the back garden gazebo, the reception room, and even around the town in various scenarios.

Randy's idea, sparked by the mention of an 'election poster.'

Not a fashion magazine, but a lookbook creation, yet everyone is participating with no clear vision in mind, and it's currently only serving to reinforce Randy's lightweight image.

In fact, Alan, who appeared amidst the hustle and bustle, couldn't help but mutter, "He's like a young Luke..."

So the lively photo shoot continued until it wrapped up before sunset.

Randy, who had been the model, called for a break and, along with Clarice, worked diligently on the 'product photography' in the second-floor hall.

Despite not fully understanding the intense shoot that even involved crafting mannequins, Clarice seemed to enjoy helping out.

 "...Alright, how's this?"

Randy, having finally finished the product shots, gathered everyone together.

"I took quite a lot, so please pick out the photos you think are good."

At Randy's direction, everyone began enthusiastically selecting photos. Alan, who was thrown into a group of women, also actively selected photos, saying, "Isn't this one good?"

"Old man, stop picking just mom's photos, pick some others too!"

 "I-I know, okay!"

 Alan, flustered, made everyone smile.

"Here, Lady Flora. This is a souvenir for His Excellency."

Randy handed over a well-taken photo of Flora and a 2-shot with Liz.

"Then, can I give this one to Cedric?"

Flora picked up a well-taken photo of Liz in her dress. When the lively selection meeting was over, Randy had two or three photos of each prototype in front of him.

"Now, what do we do with these?"

Clarice tilted her head, and Randy replied, "Just wait a bit," pulling out a sketchbook that the maid had prepared.

"I actually want to enlarge and copy the whole photo..."

But, for now, there's no technology for that, and it's still a draft. For now, it's fine if everyone here can see it in physical form.

 "Clarice, what's the brand name?"

 "Umm..."

Clarice looked back at Madame, but Madame shrugged, saying, "That will do."

"...Renacent. For nobles, it's Renacent Aurum. For commoners, it's Petit Renacent."

 "Renacent, huh. Okay."

Randy wrote in big letters on the cover of the sketchbook: 'Renacent Aurum Summer Collection.'

"Well, it's just the basic form for now, but──"

As Randy flipped open the cover of the sketchbook, he said, "The first page should be a 2-page spread, right?" and flipped another page. On the spread, he arranged photos of Liz, Ellie, Flora, Grace, and even some of the maids wearing the noble line.

After adjusting the photos a few times, he said, "Is this the spot?" and attached them.

"Hmm. We need a catchy phrase..."

Randy groaned, tapping his crossed arms... Liz and Ellie, who had been silently watching, both opened their mouths at the same time.

"Isn't the brand concept important here?"

"Renacent. It's a slight twist on renascent."

Clarice nodded and explained the brand concept. In short, it's about discovering a new self and being liberated from corsets.

Randy, who was listening to this, had an idea and clapped his hands. And the tagline written on the double page was

'All you have is a free you'

It's a rather abstract tagline, but the several photos nicely stimulate the imagination.

In addition, Randy added a heading below the photo in smaller letters than the tagline: 'Elegance that you can wear without feeling shy, in your hands.'
