Volume 1 Chapter 35 A Gift from the Hero II

"Wait, hold on──is this how you unlock [Magic Circle Magic]? Status──open!"

He popped open her status board and skimmed for anything that looked like [Magic Circle Magic].

"Nicely done, Sir Hero! I really thought I'd never get to use [Magic Circle Magic]. Seriously, thank you so much!"

Cain started poking around inside [Magic Circle Magic], diving straight into the [Magic] section.

"Okay, this is... way more suspicious than I expected. Is that because of [Analysis]? Well, guess I'll start with [Mana Ink Creation]. Just gotta picture a bottle of ink in my hand──'Mana Ink Creation!'"

Cain cupped his hands like he was scooping up water, picturing a bottle of ink sitting neatly on his palm.

He could feel mana swirling into his hands. A heartbeat later, a small glass bottle, glowing with sapphire-blue ink, materialized in her palms.

"Whoa, it even made the bottle! This is unreal... I can literally feel the 'Mana' packed into this 'Mana Ink.'"

He turned the bottle over in his hands, studying every angle, then spoke quietly: "[Analysis.]".

A window slid open. Details about the [Mana Ink] unfurled in front of him.

 〜〜〜〜

"Mana Ink"──A blue ink charged with mana, created via [Mana Ink Creation] from [Magic Circle Magic]. Primarily used to inscribe or transfer magic circles onto objects.

For the [Magic Circle Transcription] magic, open the bottle before use.

 〜〜〜〜

"This 'magic' is such a hassle. Next up is [magic circle creation], but I've gotta [analyze] the [magic] first. Maybe it's better outside? Oh right, I'm pretty sure it has to be a Level -1 Lv [magic], or it won't work..."

Remembering the shocking truth, Cain dropped his head into his hands and slumped over.

"For now, I guess I'll just have to wait and use [Mana ink production] to raise my skill level..."

Suddenly, he noticed a magical lamp lit up right there.

"Can't [analyze] the 'magic' of the magical lamp, can I?' [Analyze]'"

A window opened, and at an incredible speed, an unreadable mass of symbols, like something out of a newspaper, filled the screen.

It was written in a size that would cover a spread in a newspaper, crammed into the window.

"So, I use [analyze] to get it into this state, and then apply [Magic Circle Creation], huh? Should I try to chanting it? [Magic Circle Creation]!'"

This time, the text displayed from the [analyze] vanished or transformed into different characters on the window, and after that, a circle about 15 cm in diameter was drawn in the center, with concentric circles inside, stopping in a pattern like hieroglyphics.

Cain felt a slight headache coming on.

"Is this the magic circle of the magical lamp? Maybe? Hm, let's see...'[Analyze]'"

Another window opened, displaying an explanation of the magic circle.

"This magic circle is for the [life magic] of [light]."

"Guess I managed to create a magic circle? But why? What even is [life magic]?"

Cain found himself buried under a mountain of questions.
