Volume 2 Chapter 7 Let's Learn Daily Magic II
Cain and Alice were guided by the acolyte to the church.
Inside, the priest who had guided Cain during the "ceremony of baptism" was waiting.
"Welcome, Sir Cain. I hear you wish to learn [daily magic] today.
What kind of [daily magic] do you want to learn?"
"Yes, I want to learn [Hot Water], but if there are other good ones, I'm thinking of learning those too. But could you also teach me the history of [daily magic], if possible? I heard about Hero and I'm very interested."
"I see, a bit about it then. As you know, [daily magic] was thought up as Hero and spread. Hero was created with the idea of making [magic] that could make life a little easier, even without [magic] skills."
The priest began explaining while looking at the symbol of "Hero" in the church, the emblem of "Two-handed and Staff."
"The [daily magic] created by Hero could be used by anyone with [Mana], and many people learned it to improve their lives. However, at first, only Hero could teach [daily magic], and so many people visited every day that there's a tale of Hero running away for a time."
Cain and Alice listened to the story of their ancestors with a "Huh..." of interest.
"Right here, the Hero has set up a 'stone plate' in the granting room so that the church can perform the [daily magic] ritual. It's a truly noble act, allowing us to gain income. And today, I've been grateful all morning because I have been honored with the [daily magic] ritual for you, a blood relative of Hero, Sir Cain."
The priest looked delighted as he bowed towards the symbol of God and offered another prayer.
'Hey, Mr. Endo, that's amazing. Thank you so much,'
Cain said with a respectful bow and words of gratitude towards Hero (Endo).
"Now then, Sir Cain, which [daily magic] would you like to learn?"
"I'd like to learn [Hot Water], but what else is there? How many [daily magic] spells are there in total?"
"The [daily magic] created by Hero totals ten spells. However, only 9 have been passed down so far. Would you like to learn more? Keep in mind, though, that the number you can learn depends on the individual. Not everyone can master them all. What do you think?
Sure, I’ll format this for better readability on a phone screen:

"I see. I'd like to learn [Hot Water], [Magnify], and [Light]."
While looking at the list of [daily magic], Cain made a request to the priest.
"If it's 3, I think it might be okay. You can tell how many you can remember by touching the 'Learning Slate,' so let's move there quickly."
The priest, Cain, and Alice moved to a dimly lit room with the 'Learning Slate' in that order.
A slate was placed in the center of the room, and another slate faced it.
Cain was told to place both hands on the central slate, and he slowly laid his palms down.
As Cain placed his hands, the blue gem at the center of the slate glowed 4 times.
"Sir Cain, the gem lit up 4 times, so you can remember up to 4. Would you like to learn one more?"
"No, I'll stick with 3, please."
"Then, please keep your hands on the slate."
The priest began to chant something that sounded like a spell.
After a moment, a faint light emanated from the slate Cain was touching, enveloped him, and then vanished.
"Alright, it seems you've successfully learned them. Make sure to check your status board later."
"Elder Sister Alice, won't you learn too? I think it's quite handy."
"But, I didn't bring much money with me today."
"Please use 'My.' The money you received for paving the road with 'Stone' is available, so please do."
"Uh, um. Then can I learn '[cleanup]' and '[Light]?'"
Alice placed both hands on the "slate," just as Cain had done.
The gem flickered twice this time.
"Elder Sister Alice, you can remember both! That's great!"
Alice had learned '[cleanup]' and '[Light],' and she looked very happy.
Cain handed over 15 gold coins to the priest and left the room.
In the chapel, Cain spent some time praying to Lady Gardea.
After thanking the priest, Cain was about to leave the church when he heard a desperate woman's voice.
"Please, heal my brother's wounds. I'll pay later, I promise. Please!"
At the entrance of the church, a woman was holding a small boy, pleading with the church staff.
"I'm sorry, but we require payment on the spot. We can't accept payment later."
"Please, I beg you, help us!"
The woman pleaded, but the church officials would not budge.
The people around her watched with a mix of pity and indifference.
'I understand, but if we make an exception, then more and more will come. But, but...'
"Cain, you can't. If you heal them, then every day we'll have more villagers showing up at the mansion."
Seemingly aware of Cain's feelings, Alice drove the point home.
"I know, I know, but... I can't turn a blind eye, Cain."
Cain looked down, muttering under his breath.
"Priest, may I use [healing magic] on Elder Sister Alice since she's injured? It will only take a moment."
"Ah, um, if it's for Lady Alice, then I suppose it's alright..."
"Thank you, Priest. Please, Elder Sister Alice, come here."
Cain gently guided Alice closer to the women and took her hands.
"Cain, I'm hurt," she said, but he overlaid her words with his own. "Look, here on your palm. Just hold still, okay?"
He silenced Alice's words with his.
"[Area Heal] Oops, got that wrong. But your hand's healed, so it's fine. I'm clumsy too. Haha."
Cain spoke loudly, almost deliberately.
His [Area Heal] enveloped the women and the boy in light before fading away.
The boy's injury was healed.
"Priest, thank you very much. Elder Sister Alice, let's go to the café." "Hey, hey, don't pull so hard."
Cain led Alice out of the church by the hand.
