Volume 3 Chapter 25 Horace + Sid VS Calamityshade Dragon Terra Disas II

Volume 3 Chapter 25 Horace + Sid VS Calamityshade Dragon Terra Disas II

Terra Disas transformed from a dragon into a human.

Horace and Sid, hearing the words 'diverting resources to battle,' focused even more....

 "Guh!"

Terra Disas's kick pierced Horace's abdomen.

The red armor was easily penetrated, and he was sent flying backward, crashing into the ground.

"Hmph, you're not dying from that. I see, you made a powerful golem... huh?"

From above Terra, Sid unleashed a giant spear of water.

"Playing with water is for kids. Grow up."

Terra snapped his fingers, and the spear of water glowed before exploding.

 "Hiss..."

Though caught in the explosion, it seemed something allowed him to avoid damage, as he maintained a slight distance.

"...Really, do you think you can beat ne just because you're an 'Apostle'?"

"We'd be in trouble if we couldn't win."

"Indeed. Trouble would be good. Oh?"

Horace charged with his one-bladed greatsword, closing in on Terra.

But then, he stopped the blade with just his index and middle fingers aligned.

"You use a rather interesting sword."

It was a greatsword that truly lived up to being called 'interesting.'

It had a 'spike' due to being one-bladed, but there were ten 'tubes' lined up there, jetting something out that allowed it to swing with overwhelming speed.

 A greatsword with overwhelming speed.

"Expanding compressed gas to jet out, using that thrust. In the 'Great Summoning Era' 1800 years ago, it was called a 'rocket engine,' right?"

"Why can you stop it with just your fingers?"

"The amount of energy in our existence is different. It's too early for humans to stand shoulder to shoulder with a calamity."

At that moment, Horace leaped backward to distance himself.

At the same time, Sid was preparing, having 'compressed' an enormous amount of water.

 "'Conclusion: Release'"

An attack that could be called a water laser was unleashed.

 "..."

Terra raised his hand, and the water was deflected.

Yet, he himself didn't move an inch.

"I admit the pressure, but is that all...!?"

 Terra looked at Horace.

Just then, he unlatched the Cube from his left hip and slotted it right into the hollow on his greatsword's guard.

Instantly, ten cylinders shot free from the greatsword.

They snapped onto Horace──both shoulders, both hips, both knees, both elbows, and his back──locking into place.

 "Seriously..."

The next moment, the thing that should be called a 'straight, futuristic katana' came down at Terra.

He solidified his magic into a blade to block it.

But this time, he couldn't kill the force.

He staggered back... and then his body floated up into the air.

 "Tch."

"With these specs, I won't lose once I'm airborne."

Gas blasted from the cylinders, and Horace suddenly accelerated.

He didn't stop──again and again, he slashed at Terra midair.

"You're not the only one smooth in the sky, you know."

Terra made platforms of magic under his feet to brace himself.

 He braced, countering Horace's attacks.

But Horace's attacks, with all that speed from his gear, came relentless and heavier each time.

 The pressure only grew.

"Tch, damn it! Don't get cocky!"

"Going toe-to-toe with you? Of course I'm feeling good!"

"Fine, but keep it to yourself, you brat!"

Horace and Terra crossed swords, crashing together in the sky.

It was obvious──Horace had the upper hand, and he was pressing the advantage with every blow.

...Hard to believe it could perform this well.

So connecting that Cube means he can only use that sword now, but he's drawing out every last bit of power from it.

 That's how it is, huh.

Sid analyzed things, even as he conjured up volley after volley of water bullets.

Whenever he spotted an opening, he'd fire them right at Terra.

"Annoying pest, those apostles always get in the way..."

"In the way? You realize it was always 2-on-one, right?"

"Yeah, well. Ugh, this is out of the plan."

Whatever Terra's 'plan' was, his frustration was written all over his face now.

 "...This is it!"

Horace appeared behind Terra and swung his sword down.

There was no way he could block it in time──way too fast.

The blade came down, aimed right at his back...

"Seriously, nothing is going to plan."

FWOOSH──A deep red aura flooded out from Terra's whole body.

He snapped his fingers, sharp and quick.

The moment he did, the blade of Horace's sword vanished, as if it had melted out of existence.

 "Wha──ugh!"

Without stopping, Terra drove his heel into Horace's gut, burying his kick deep.

There was no mistaking it was moving at ultra-speed, but it was perfectly captured, piercing the armor with ease.

 "Impossible. It's not time yet..."

"What are you saying? I, the 'original,' am free to choose my timing, am I not?"

 "Guh... Goha!"

In a flash, he rushed at Sid, driving a fist into his chest.

Then, he was blown backward, scraping the ground as they tumbled.

 "Hm?"

Terra turned his gaze to Horace.

There he stood, wielding a blade that should have melted, and wearing armor that should have been shattered.

 "...Really, such a greedy creature."

Terra sighed and extended his right hand.

As he focused his power, a bright red ingot appeared there.

But the biggest change was that the 'sky had cleared.'

 "The sky..."

"This ingot is crucial for triggering my devastation. My magic within is unstable, causing disasters around me."

Terra tossed the ingot, and Horace caught it with his left hand.

Horace stared at it, then immediately channeled his magic.

The ingot's crimson hue seemed to deepen, as if gaining intensity.

"To handle it so skillfully on the first try... You're just dealing with Gai and Zetsu's leftovers. Sweet, but still too soft."

 He let out a chuckle.

"I'll leave it to you, then. Once you've fully controlled the ingot, I'll reclaim it. I'll keep an eye on the apostles, so hurry back."

"...Then, I'll take it without hesitation."

"You've only shown me your stable performance from the start, right? That was the fight with getting it as the premise."

 "Exposed, huh?"

"Indeed. And, I've included the 'private key.' The time limit isn't long, but do as you please."

"...Then, I'll take it without hesitation."

With that, Horace sprayed gas from a canister and flew off.

 ...Leaving Terra and Sid behind.

But as Terra flashed an ominous smile at Sid, it seemed like 'something was up.'

"So, what will you do? I can't cause a 'disaster' now. Rather, the one who might cause a disaster is the guy with that ingot."

"He could control it, and he doesn't want to fight you right now, that's for sure."

"Yeah, I guess. You wouldn't dare challenge me now. That's just how it is."

Terra turned away from Sid and started walking off somewhere.

 "Where to?"

"Just killing time. This world seems to have a lot of interesting things."

 "As you please..."

 "Sure thing. See you around."

 With that, Terra kept walking.

Once Terra was out of Sid's sight, a soft mutter escaped.

It was unclear who it was meant for.

Or rather, was it aimed at the 'times' we live in?

"Hah, but still, what to say? The 'Order of the Sealed Dragon' bloodline and the 'Apostles' teaming up to challenge me. This must be the age, huh? Someone from the old days might faint hearing this... But is it better than you, a reincarnation of that bloodline's disciple, even if you don't remember?"

 Terra muttered softly again.

"What would the you from back then think, 'Transcendent Frost Dragon' Ran Jailer?"

The voice, inaudible to anyone, dissolved into the air.
