"Next is the town wall, but we will construct it according to Father's wishes. However, I have one request. Building it all at once, like the fort last time, causes too much strain, so if possible, I'd like to take about a month to build it bit by bit. Considering my health as well, if we build it slowly, we can celebrate when it's completed."
"Indeed, we can't build it all at once. I was really worried last time. Plus, having a celebration when it's done is a good idea. Let's have the civil officials come up with some plans and have a grand celebration."
Luke seemed to have an idea pop into his head, sporting a joyful smile.
"Don't make it too extravagant, and make sure to discuss the budget properly with Randolph."
Both Lydia and Luke seemed in favor of the celebration.
"However, we haven't received His Majesty's permission yet, so the plan for the new district isn't making much progress. If Cain has any good ideas, I'd really like to hear them. I want the new district to be made entirely of cobblestone with your cooperation, and I also want to ensure the sewers we just discussed are fully equipped."
Luke mentioned the lack of progress on the new district plan and shared the ideas he had in mind.
"Of course, I don't mind helping. Hmm, yes. I'd like to build a fountain and create a place for the people to relax. If we entice restaurants and shops to the area around the fountain, I think people will naturally gather, and the area will develop."
Cain suggested setting up a fountain in the center of the square and imagined the people happily eating and shopping there.
"Hey, Cain? Fountains are only in the royal capital, and there aren't any craftsmen in the Sanroze domain who can make one."
Lydia responded in surprise.
"On the contrary, precisely because they're only in the royal capital, I want to try building one. Let's consider it. If we do that, we'll need to draw water from the river..."
Cain started pondering how to build the fountain while muttering to himself.
"Cain, C-A-I-N! You haven't finished explaining the public bathhouse yet, have you?"
Lydia called Cain back, who was about to enter deep thought.
"Yes, yes. Excuse me. It's the public bathhouse, right? Currently, both Father and Mother Lydia are using the castle's bathhouse every day, but how about you? Has anything changed with your usage?"
"Well, I feel that the fatigue from office work doesn't linger into the next day, and taking a bath before sleeping seems to help me fall asleep faster this winter compared to previous years."
Luke shared his personal experiences about the effects of bathing.
"Thanks to daily baths, my skin and hair have become much shinier, and I feel that my body is warming from the core. Because of that, I think I didn't feel the cold of winter as much as usual."
Lydia also shared her feelings about the effects she experienced from bathing.
"I'm glad that both Father and Mother Lydia felt the benefits of bathing. As they experienced, warming the body makes it less likely to catch colds and illnesses. Also, when the body warms up, blood circulation improves, which helps recover from fatigue."
Cain explained again the effects of bathing.
"Therefore, if the townspeople can bathe once every two or three days, it will reduce the chances of them falling ill, promote recovery from fatigue, and decrease work-related injuries. So, I would like to proceed with its construction as a project of the Sanroze family."
Toward the end, Cain proposed while observing their reactions.
"Hm, if it reduces the townspeople's illnesses and injuries, I will consider it. I will assign a civil official to handle it, so please discuss it with them."
Luke promised to consider the public bathhouse.
"Thank you very much. We will do our best to make it happen!!"
"Cain? Don't overexert yourself too much. If you collapse again, I will suspend your duties for a while. Even if you are a noble, you are still only seven years old."
Lydia scolded Cain, who was excited about the proposal being accepted.
"Yes, I will be more careful. Thank you for your time today. To summarize, we will begin discussions with the civil officials about the public bathhouse, and for the town walls and sewer system, Randolph will proceed with plans once he returns and aligns with the new district plan."
Cain confirmed the summary of today's proposal with both of them.
"Cain, all three proposals were very good. If they could be realized, I felt they would all be beneficial for the common people. However, as Lydia said, do not push yourself too hard. If Randolph or Barvish advise you, make sure to heed their advice."
"Thank you for your concern. If the proposer and implementer fall, it would ruin everything, so I will be very careful."
Cain, feeling once again that he is loved by both, answered with a smile.
