Volume 4 Chapter 38 In Front Of The Legion Base, Outside The Boss Room
The 'Myriad Legion Stronghold' is one of the four great dungeons of the Chaos Stone Dragonstone Kingdom, and this is the boss strategy.
This was something Horace had planned to do at the very end of his teacher experience, and it seemed to have quite a good reputation.
Many people, both inside and outside the school, were eager to see Horace's overwhelming combat power.
"By the way," Ellie tilted her head, "isn't that armor something you should have stolen? Why do you even have it?"
There was no way to report a loss of composure to the arrogant Emperor Jagarsa. The armor obtained in the operation was the real deal, and what Horace was using now was a spare.
"I haven't been serious at all until now," Horace explained with a shrug, "so I haven't been able to exert my maximum combat power. If I could analyze and neutralize the part that puts a huge burden on the wearer, I could gain combat power greater than my current level."
As Horace gave his report, Jagarsa was visibly surprised. However, the conversation took a strange turn when a prostitute was brought in to improve the mood. Typical, but that's how it went.
"Well then," Horace clapped his hands, "it seems we're challenging this dungeon with these members after all."
The group consisted of Horace, Rangella, Ulrika, Cindy, Tiaris, Ellie, Ramella, and Nousa.
"We also want to leave something behind while we're at school," Rangella commented, her voice determined.
"Yeah," Ulrika agreed with a nod, "because the 'me' communication at school wasn't progressing."
"Oh?" Cindy raised an eyebrow, "I hadn't heard that Ellie's conversation wasn't progressing."
"The students are too pure," Ellie replied with a smirk, "and sometimes they can't communicate with me, who is called a 'demon' in the world."
"Ahahaha!" Tiaris laughed, throwing her head back, "Of course, they wouldn't be able to!"
"Well," Ramella noted, her eyes sparkling, "wherever you go, your eyes are always so lively. I was honestly surprised by that."
"Anyway," Nousa concluded, crossing her arms, "there's a limit to the combat power that can be shown within the school. You have to try hard while you can still wear a uniform."
While Horace had been taking the students to the dungeon and handling various tasks, the group had clearly developed their own dynamics. As they discussed, it became evident that individual experiences varied widely.
*As Ellie, there's no need to do anything significant in the Chaos Stone Dragonstone Kingdom,* Ellie thought to herself.
There were members of the hero community active as merchants. However, everyone in the community held both the nationality of the Chaos Stone Dragonstone Kingdom and the profits from the Great Mine of Gold World (Kinsekai), so there were no issues as long as they had that.
*But,* Ellie mused, leaning against a wall, *since the Chaos Stone Dragonstone Kingdom seems like it's going to get involved in a big private-level issue because of the hero community, I was thinking of teaching some countermeasures. But the citizens are too pure—it didn't get through to them.*
She added with a sigh, *First of all, if we're going to discuss this, since I'm a lolicon, the relevant party would be the Sevenstar Academy students aged 13 to 15. At that age, they wouldn't understand dirty adult things even if they were taught. So, I think I'm mistaken about who I should be teaching from the start.*
"So," Nousa turned to Horace, "is the monster in here so strong that all of us need to go?"
Horace dodged the question with a smirk, "Saa? Well, I do think something might happen."
Horace aside, even if the other seven ganged up on him, there was such a difference in combat power that they couldn't win against Horace, equipped with 'Deus Ex Machina.'
Lately, he'd been training with drones, capable of handling attacks from two or more points simultaneously by himself.
However, Horace was concerned. Originally, this dungeon's last quarter had been sealed, making it impassable. Considering the final boss dropped an item necessary to challenge Shildress, it was unlikely they'd set up a half-hearted boss.
"Just do as you like," Horace said, waving a hand dismissively. "I'm here, so there's no problem."
He activated the streaming drone, letting it hover in the rear, and opened the door to the boss room.
"...Now," Horace murmured, his eyes narrowing, "let's see what kind of monster comes out..."
A vast, dome-shaped space spread before them, welcoming the eight.
"Isn't it too spacious?" Nousa remarked, glancing around.
"Eyeballing it," Ramella calculated, her tone analytical, "it's a dome-shaped space with a radius of about 5 kilometers. Yes, it's too spacious."
The empty, white floor felt eerily unsettling. As they entered, the door closed before the drone could follow. The drone broke through the door to join them.
For a moment, everyone was silent, taking in the strange atmosphere:
"""""""......"""""""
"They're coming out," Horace warned, his voice steady.
At his words, everyone turned to face forward.
At the far end of the dome, the ground cracked, and something rose from beneath—a fortress, no, a full-fledged bastion.
"I've seen various forts," Tiaris exclaimed, her eyes widening, "but this surpasses them all. It's like a fortress."
"Cannons, gatling guns," Cindy noted, her voice tight, "and lots of other equipment are installed too..."
As they spoke, soldiers in diverse gear emerged from the fortress, forming ranks. They utilized the 5-kilometer radius of the dome to prepare thoroughly. Magic tools that would give allies an advantage appeared, clearly unusual.
"Even cavalry," Ulrika observed, her brow furrowing, "forming formations. They're endlessly emphasizing their combat power."
"This is the Myriad Legion's base boss," Horace explained, his tone grim, "the 'Military State of Apalion.'"
"Rare," Ellie remarked, her lips curling, "an 'official monster' of a country, huh?"
"Considering all these forts," Nousa thought aloud, "it feels like a base of operations."
"Right," Horace agreed, drawing his weapon. "Let's either defeat or destroy it."
Everyone readied their weapons, and the battle began.
