Volume 5 Chapter 25 Sound
Here's the revised story with italic emphasis on certain words to enhance the situation and UPPERCASE used in dialogue lines where appropriate to reflect intensity or emphasis:
I'm facing the final fight against Amou, the big boss.
With this huge enemy, me and Frederica were helpless.
When they stole the Eye of the Time King, I thought it was over──but then, I heard his voice in my ear.
"IRANKUS... WHY are you HERE...?"
Irankus.
He's the guy who kicked me out of the Guild.
Later on, he became a pawn of the Evil God and came to take me down.
He should be locked up as a mining slave right now...
'HMPH! PATHETIC. What's with that MISERABLE wreck of YOURS!'
Somewhere, I hear his voice.
He sounds like he can see me.
"It's MY power!"
"VIVRE..."
Demon Dragon Vivre, the Hero Party's lackey, is standing right behind him.
"Your NEW ability? It's called CONSCIOUSNESS LINK! I can SHARE all kinds of SENSES with ANYONE!"
"So... you can LINK what Vivre SEES to OTHER people?"
Frederica asks, and Vivre nods.
"EVERYBODY down on EARTH can SEE Mr. Act FIGHT!"
"...DUMBASS. Why the HELL would you do SOMETHING like THAT?"
Then...
'Because EVERYONE wants to HELP you!'
"ROZELIA..."
Vivre sends Rozelia's voice from the surface to me.
She's the ace of my Guild, and she's watching me...
'GUILDMASTER! KEEP GOING!'
My apprentice Yui cheers me on.
It's not just Yui.
I hear voices from my Guild, the raw gifted ones.
'Don't LOSE, GUILDMASTER!' 'You CAN do it!' 'Mr. ACT! FIGHT HARD!!!'
Voices from outside the Guild reach me too.
Town mayor, big shots from here and abroad.
They're all backing me up.
"WHY...? You don't OWE me ANYTHING. I only USED you all for MYSELF."
'HMPH! What the HELL are you THINKING, ACT AGE!'
Irankus says, sounding like he's smirking.
'I'll TEACH you, DUMBASS. EVERYONE knows your STINKY little ACT. You play the VILLAIN and make yourself the OUTCAST. That way, no GRUDGES stay, and you get to MOVE on to a NEW place. They GET that KINDNESS from you.'
...I'm surprised.
No way, this guy was the one who threw me out, so unfairly of all people.
He... actually understands me.
'SORRY, ACT AGE.'
Just like that, he apologizes to me.
'It was MY mistake to EXILE you. But... I don't REGRET it now. Because you've POLISHED so many TALENTED GEMS in that NEW place.'
I hear the voices of many people inside me.
Everyone's cheering me on.
Everyone's giving me courage to stand up.
...Am I doing the right thing?
I've been doubting all along.
Picking up raw gems, polishing them, then sending them out to the world.
I believed if I kept doing that, the world would fill up with strong, smart people, and one day it would be peaceful.
But I wasn't completely sure.
I thought it was impossible to polish every single person's talent in this world.
I wondered if doing that meant nothing.
That's how I felt.
'You're NOT WRONG, ACT AGE! What you're DOING is STEADILY making the WORLD PEACEFUL! Just a LITTLE more! SOON you'll CREATE your IDEAL WORLD, where NO ONE gets HURT, the KIND WORLD you WANT!'
That's why Irankus says.
'Don't GIVE UP HERE!'
