Volume 5 Chapter 38 Direct confrontation
The final SHOWDOWN with Demon King Dostoevsky.
Transcendent Amou was defeated by Act.
Having lost the IMMORTALITY he received from Amou, Dostoevsky is now VULNERABLE.
He can be killed──he will be killed.
"Here I COME! Nuuuuuuu──!"
Lawrence charges straight at the DEMON King.
A chill shot down Dostoevsky's SPINE.
"N-No! Stay AWAYYYYY!"
With grotesque TENTACLES flailing, he attacks Lawrence.
Each touch carries poison that spells INSTANT death──
a barrage of the most LETHAL spears, raining down upon Lawrence.
But...
"Nuuuuuu! Kiiiick!"
Even with death's POISON coursing through him, Lawrence presses ON.
"What the HELL?! Is this... for REAL?!"
"Your poison won't... work on me ANYMOOOORE!"
After enduring the long, GRUELING battle against the Demon King,
Lawrence's body has become SUPERHUMAN, gaining resistance... immunity to that poisonous touch.
So, the instant-death poison TENTACLES can't touch him.
That's why he's not DEFENDING himself.
He's gathering STRENGTH.
Building it up, building it up, waiting for that final BLOW,
the greatest strike to unleash upon him.
"Uuuuuurgh!"
Feeling CORNERED, Dostoevsky is suddenly confronted with the weight of DEFEAT and death.
──No, no! I don't want to DIE... I don't want to die!
"You're the one who's gonna DIE! Human!!!"
"No WAY! I won't! Humans NEVER lose!!!"
