And then, a little time passed.
"Ughh..."
Act's daughter... Henrietta.
She was lying on her bed in her own room.
Then, Act's partner and former maid, Frederica, appeared.
"Come on, Henrietta. Wake up."
"Ughh... Mmm... I don't wanna get up..."
Unlike her dignified demeanor at the Guild, she acted like a spoiled child.
The Guild members would surely be shocked to see this.
Yes, Henrietta was still very young.
She was only in the latter half of her teens.
"Come on now, wake up. C'mon."
"Ugh... Ughh..."
Henrietta was reluctantly roused.
She clung tightly to her mother.
"Ugh... Mmm... I don't wanna work..."
"No can do. You're the one who said you'd take over the Guild from Act, remember?"
"But... it's too hard... they're all such monsters..."
Indeed, the Gem of Heavenly Gift now had, the same as when Act was around, or perhaps even more, monsters like Leaf Chemist and the Black Silver Summoner.
Henrietta, still a novice, had little experience.
It was quite a struggle for her to manage them all.
"Then, should I tell Papa to let someone else be Guildmaster?"
"No way──!"
Henrietta's eyes shot wide open as she shook her head vigorously.
"Papa's Guild is supposed to be managed by his daughter, me! I won't give it to anyone else!"
Frederica sighed with a wry smile and patted her head.
"Alright then, do your best at work today too."
"Ugh... No. Yea! Got it, Mother!"
Frederica gave her a comforting pat and then said,
"But why do you talk like that?"
"That's... because I don't want to be looked down on. Ah, ja!"
Supposedly, she talks like that just to keep up an air of dignity.
She doesn't need to put on that act if you ask me... but I decided not to meddle with my daughter's approach.
That's the Act family's way──how the Ages handle things, always has been.
"Here I go...! I'm gonna give it my all today, for real──!"
