Volume 5 Chapter 16 What To Do With Ratis
"We have two pieces. We need one more, Master."
"That's right."
"We can probably handle that one, but the Order of the Sealed Dragon being so quiet feels strange and worrying."
In the lobby of the Hero's Mansion.
Horace, Rangella, and Deus are talking.
Deus is eating the katsudon Horace made while joining the conversation. It looks really tasty.
As for Rangella, who's watching, she's not eating. But if you look in the corner of the lobby, there are five empty pots, so you can guess she's already eaten a lot.
"Was it Ratis? The one who said he's the strongest swordsman of the Order of the Sealed Dragon?"
"That's right. His sword skills were pretty good."
"...Wait, was that right, Deus?"
"Hm? Oh, remember when Master set up a base and was exploring? I was sleeping on the roof. Ratis came, demanded the base, and when we refused, he attacked me with his sword. It was quite a scene."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I took his sword and spanked him, so I felt better, Master. Anyway, we left that base and moved on, so I thought, 'Whatever!'"
In his mind, he seems to think, "Those guys don't matter."
"By the way, Ratis said, 'Because I have the magic sword, we're stronger than you guys.'"
"...Hm? Did he really say that, Rangella?"
"Yes, while you were in the 'Wrath of the Heavens' dungeon, he came to this mansion."
"Oh..."
"I think it's because in that dungeon, the weather itself is the enemy, not monsters. Ratis relies only on his sword skills, so he probably couldn't handle it."
"I agree."
"So, did Ratis actually bring the magic sword with him, Rangella?"
"Yes, he did."
"What did Ramella say about it?"
"She said its power is extremely high, but it's not being used properly. Even so, its sharpness is better than any sword she's seen."
"I see."
When Horace uses Deus, his main weapon is a greatsword called 'Cosmo Traveler,' with ten thrusters on the blade.
He's shown it to Ramella too.
Considering that, she said the magic sword is sharper."
"Um, this might sound strange, Master, but can Ramella really judge Deus's performance?"
"Deus is made from a special alloy I created. If she says the magic sword is sharper, then in terms of quality, it's probably similar. Thinking about that..."
"It's quite tough, isn't it?"
"Yeah, Ms. Rangella, is that what you think?"
"I asked Ramella about it. She said she doesn't see it clearly, but she felt something that let her judge the sharpness is higher."
"'Something'... well, it depends on Ramella's knowledge, so I can't say for sure."
"But Ramella is very serious about materials. She once sneaked into my room for a good pillow, and I saw her carefully handling different materials. She's organized, and it's work you can't do unless you understand it well."
"Oh, I see..."
"By the way, I jumped on Ramella when she returned to her room and hugged her. Her breasts felt really good."
"Don't complain if she hit you hard, Deus."
"I was thrown out the window..."
By the way, Ramella's room and Horace's room are on the fifth floor.
It probably means he was thrown out without hesitation.
"That's pretty kind of her."
"Really!?"
"If it were me, I'd freeze you and use you as a body pillow."
"That's scary!"
All members of the Luster Report are beautiful girls, but they're actually a brave party that defeated the Demon Lord.
Their mindset is very different from ordinary people, so don't take them lightly or you'll have a bad time.
"...That said, I was also impressed by the magic sword's presence."
"If it's on par with Deus, that makes sense."
"But there's something that worries me, Master."
"Hmm?"
"When Ratis came to the mansion, as soon as he learned Master wasn't here, the sword's presence seemed to weaken or something."
"Its presence... isn't it?"
Horace tilted his head, looking unsure.
