Volume 6 Chapter 40 Brave + Royal Banquet Vs Mist Dragon
In a certain place within the spirit dungeon called the 'Forest of Soul,' the two were holding swords and knives.
Against such an opponent, Mist transformed into a dragon and attacked the two.
"Hmm, from what I've experienced with the sword, even though it's mist, it definitely has mass," Rangella said thoughtfully.
"This is quite a troublesome situation, but it's nothing I can't handle," Garboros replied calmly.
Rangella swung the 'Dragon Silver Sword Tel Agatha.'
When it struck the mist, only the part that touched the blade instantly froze, then the blade cut through.
Garboros swung the 'Great Cleaver ── Salvation Whale.'
When it struck the mist, it sliced right through.
"It's convenient to be able to cut without doing anything," Rangella remarked.
"Well, originally it has the ability to cut through the sea... liquids, but water and air are essentially the same, right?" Garboros added.
"Indeed, I've heard the phrase that ice, water, and air are only different in temperature and density... Oh?" Rangella muttered, noticing something.
A differently colored breath was released from Mist's mouth.
Poisonous mist spread around...
"It's useless."
When Rangella raised her hand, cold air overflowed, and the mist froze completely.
She swung the sword, shattering the frozen mist into pieces.
"Haa... hmm?" she murmured.
As Garboros yawned, a laser was suddenly shot toward him.
"It won't work," he said, slicing the laser in half with his knife.
"Sigh, I just can't get motivated," Garboros admitted.
"Since we're streaming, you should take it seriously," Rangella chided.
"Well, even if you say that. First of all, are you serious?" he shot back.
"Since this dragon is now getting serious, I will also prepare accordingly," Rangella answered.
"So, you're not serious right now, then?" he asked.
"I suppose you could say that," she replied.
"Haa."
Garboros sighed.
"So, that dragon is probably what we'd classify as an 'All-In Dragon,' but it should already be used," Garboros explained.
"Like Gai Gigant and Zeth Halcon, it's a method to focus all overflowing magical power into combat... If it's a residual scent entity, it'll activate over time, but the main body should not be restricted by time," Rangella said.
"Sigh, troublesome. It should just be used already. If we don't use that, even if we hold back, it won't serve as a warm-up," Garboros sighed again.
"That's true," Rangella agreed.
Both Rangella and Garboros were strong enough to have been invited to the Blood Duel Cup and to step into the arena.
Literally, they were world-class combatants with the strength to accomplish legendary feats.
* * *
Mistborne Dragon Yate Namist is undoubtedly an important and powerful monster connected to the founding legend of the Diamante Kingdom, but it was not performing at full strength and could not handle two opponents.
"...Oh?" Rangella whispered.
"Huh?" Garboros echoed.
Mana pulsed wildly.
In the next moment, a denser laser attacked Rangella than before.
"..."
Rangella reached out and created an ice wall.
The laser was blocked, but the ice seemed to melt slightly.
"Finally, huh?" Rangella said with a faint smile.
"Well, originally, it was summoned to rampage in that arena. If it doesn't reach that point first, it's meaningless," Garboros added.
"That's quite something... Anyway, since it's being streamed, shall we liven things up a bit?"
Rangella took up her sword.
"Dragon Silver Sword Tel Agatha. 'All-in Time' activation," she declared.
In the next moment, mana flowed from the sword into Rangella.
Sharp, icy armor formed where the mana touched her.
The blade of Tel Agatha disappeared, replaced by a newly formed icy blade.
"Phew..." Rangella breathed out.
"That was also present in the arena," Garboros noted.
"Yes, I never imagined it would end with a single slash, though," Rangella said.
"Well... if you're that strong, it's no surprise," Garboros replied.
"By the way, do you have any 'cards up your sleeve'?" Rangella asked.
"On the sea, I have plenty," Garboros answered.
"The ice below can all be thawed at once," he added.
"...No, I am fine. I don't do that kind of thing," Rangella said firmly.
"Understood," Garboros nodded.
Garboros didn't come to the Blood Duel Cup intending to unleash his full power.
Garboros was likely aware they were streaming, and if not showing his strength, that was his choice.
"Now then, I was quite generous last time, but..."
When Rangella prepared her sword, cold gathered around, elongating the blade.
"Hmm..." she muttered.
When Garboros raised his knife, seawater spilled over it.
Since the lake below was unrelated, he likely summoned seawater with mana.
It gathered on the dagger.
"'Frostlit Ritual Blade: Ultimate Technique: Eight Kings Prime Decree,'" Rangella intoned.
"'Great Ocean: One Sword Slash,'" Garboros added.
Two blades swung down.
It was a very sad story, but
The ending needed no words.
Notes:
• Ran - A silver-haired, busty, and beautiful young girl with a dominating spirit. She is one of the 'Four Source Maidens' and is deeply affected by her mother's disappearance.
• Garboros - Known as the Royal Table. Captain of the Captain of the Five-Star Pirates. His appearance is not described, but he is known for his immense strength, capable of taking down powerful sea monsters alone. He is primarily interested in gourmet food and has little regard for honor or material possessions. His relationship with Horace is one of acquaintance, and he participates in the Blood Duel Cup seemingly for the experience.
