Volume 6 Chapter 41 Hundred-Heaven Blade + Unscalable + Sword-Eyed Vs. Billion Sin Dragon

Volume 6 Chapter 41 Hundred-Heaven Blade + Unscalable + Sword-Eyed Vs. Billion Sin Dragon

From the sky, hundreds... no, more than that, boomerangs descended, slicing through the dragon's body.

While it might not be meaningless, the dragon seemed oddly unfazed.

"Hmm. It doesn't feel like it's wearing down at all," Zachariah muttered.

A body covered in small scales layered multiple times.

The dragon that Zachariah, Cain, and Rivela were challenging showed no signs of damage, as its 'scales' simply peeled off with each attack.

"Mr. Zachariah's boomerangs must be quite numerous. Considering almost all of them hit, the number landed so far is considerable, but what could it be?" Cain asked.

"Well, it's clear that the scales are from a special monster. The question is, 'what should we do about it?'" Rivela replied.

Cain swung his magic sword, attacking the scales.

Rivela also unleashed flames from her sword, burning the scales.

However, it only caused the scales to fall off, and it didn't feel like any damage was being inflicted on the body.

To put it simply, it was undeniable that 'the scales were special.'

Yet, more than that, it felt like 'something was being overlooked.'

"...By the way, this guy is called the 'Billion-Sin Dragon,' right?" Zachariah asked.

"That's the name, yes," Cain confirmed.

 "...Billion. Huh."

"What is it? If you have something on your mind, just say it already," Rivela prompted.

"What if it means we have to attack a billion times?"

At Zachariah's remark, Cain and Rivela's movements came to a complete stop.

"...So, in other words, it means there are a billion scales, and we have to peel them all off?" Cain muttered.

"That seems likely, right?" Zachariah nodded.

"I think attacks will work if we hit the spots where the scales have been removed," Rivela added.

"Then you should try it. It probably won't work," Zachariah said bluntly.

"How can you say that?" Cain asked, surprised.

"Sometimes, the scales that were attacked don't fall off, while other scales do. You can understand that much, right?" Rivela explained.

The fact that the attacked scales fell off suggested that the Billion-Sin Dragon was somehow doing this, and that 'all the scales' might be operating under some system.

 That was Rivela's observation.

Understanding that observation, Cain let out a sigh.

"Ultimate is such a hassle. I should have just pushed it onto Abel," Cain grumbled.

"Are you aware this is a live broadcast?" Rivela teased.

"Given that we're streaming something this monotonous, the quality is just unavoidable," Cain said dryly.

"Hmm. Well, that's true. I'm not particularly interested in flashy sword techniques," Rivela admitted.

"Ms. Rivela, if you don't actively engage in that sort of thing, won't it hurt the promotion of Muspelheim?" Zachariah asked.

"I don't mind. Even if someone who hasn't properly trained their basics picks up a few techniques, they'll just cause trouble for those around them," Rivela replied calmly.

"Well, I won't deny that," Zachariah agreed.

Without a solid foundation, one cannot fully utilize the techniques they have acquired.

The power of a technique is determined by the multiplication of its foundation.

Techniques that have become sloppy in detail hold no particular value from Rivela's perspective.

"Hehe, that's true. A novice's performance is only good enough to boast about in the countryside," Zachariah chuckled.

"I've heard that Cain has been living in the outskirts of the Diamante Kingdom, but the reverse is also true. You can't let a master's movements rot in the outskirts," Rivela said thoughtfully.

"Well, the way one uses power and life varies from person to person..." Cain said quietly.

"Now, let's think about how to attack a hundred million times," Zachariah suggested.

 "Ah, right," Rivela agreed.

Zachariah, also known as the Hundred-Heaven Blade, possessed a large number of boomerangs and could move them all simultaneously.

However, the dragon in front of them was not particularly weak in terms of each individual scale.

To peel off those scales, it was necessary to deliver an appropriate level of attack.

"What will you do, Ms. Rivela?" Zachariah asked.

"I'll bombard it with fireballs," she answered.

"It seems the terrain will change," Zachariah observed.

"What about you, who only has a simple sword?" Rivela inquired.

"Well, I can defend against the opponent's attacks, allowing the two of you to focus on attacking... how about that?" Zachariah suggested.

"Those weak attacks won't reach us," Rivela said confidently.

 "Same here," Cain added.

"They are quite the muscle-headed people. Well, I guess I'll do my best too," Zachariah sighed.

Cain readied his sword with a determined look.

"Ah, I'm going to approach and slash, but you two can attack without worrying too much. I'll dodge everything," Cain said.

 "Got it," they both replied.

"Just to ask, who came up with the nickname 'Sword-Eyed'?" Rivela asked curiously.

"His Majesty. And, 'I really like it,'" Cain answered with a smile.

"I see... so you can understand everything within the reach of your sword. Then I won't hold back," Zachariah declared.

 "Of course," Cain replied.

"I won't hold back either. I won't care if that pretty face gets burned," Rivela said teasingly.

"Um, don't you remember that I have zero hits taken? This is a spirit dungeon, so instead of getting hurt, it releases magical power, you know?" Cain reminded him.

"It's a promise," Rivela said with a grin.

"A promise of what? ...Well, never mind," Cain said, dropping the subject.

Cain asked 'a promise of what?', but it was clear that Rivela had no intention of answering, so he decided to drop it.

It didn't really matter to Cain anyway.

"Well then, I'm off," Cain said as he charged forward, sword at the ready.

He closed in on the billion-sin dragon in one swift motion.

 ――Tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!

The next sound that reached their ears was the rapid-fire sound of bullets, like a submachine gun.

Of course, all of these were slashes unleashed by Cain.

However, the rapid-fire series of attacks produced a sound like bullets.

"That's amazing," Rivela said in awe.

 "Yeah. It's incredible," Zachariah agreed.

While they praised, a large number of fireballs appeared beside Rivela, and a multitude of boomerangs appeared above Zachariah.

"I have one thought," Cain said suddenly.

"Hmm?" Rivela and Zachariah turned to him.

"There's a 'defense-type dungeon' that stops a massive onslaught of monsters, right? If the two of you teamed up, it seems like you could clear the dungeon pretty easily," Cain suggested.

"Well, I agree with that," Zachariah said with a nod.

Fireballs and boomerangs headed toward the billion-sin dragon.

At this point, it was just unreasonable violence.

If it could be defeated by landing a solid attack a hundred million times... then that was all there was to it.

 The results spoke for themselves.

Against the 'billion-sin dragon'. Complete victory.
