Volume 7 Chapter 21-2 Interlude - Looks More Enjoyable When Seen From The Outside

People do try to stop bad things from happening.

But even when they tried their hardest to find out secrets, thinking their own home would be in danger if they didn't, they couldn't get any information.

"...Well, from what I know, it seems they plan to use former Prince Julius."

Gael is talking about Edgar's group's plan.

Edgar found out that Dario doesn't rely on Julius anymore. Now, Edgar wants to start a fight using information.

At first, they wanted to spread the news that "The Empire abandoned Dario." But since Dario said he wouldn't ask for help, they will change their plan.

Dario and his group used the Empire to rise to the top. Now, they will forget that help and cut ties as soon as they reach the top.

"I see... They are trying to make it look like they will leave us behind."

Elcia nodded. In her view, the sports club's cleanup was almost done, and the field was getting quiet.

"By the way, from what I know..."

Elcia is talking about how weak Dario's group is. Like Elcia, many lower nobles only follow reluctantly. If Edgar's plan works, the group could fall apart quickly.

There's talk of sending Empire officials. Even if they help in this election, their families might not lose jobs soon... but they could face pay cuts or lower ranks.

"Even if we support Sir Weissman for president, there's no reward. If that gets exposed..."

"But even if the prince becomes president, nothing will change."

When both sighed at the same time, a lively group appeared on the field. They were happily talking about plans like "Let's do it," "Measuring distance," and "Where to place it," which was very different from their mood.

 "What's that..."

"That's Senior Randolph from third year."

"I see former Prince Julius too."

The two saw Randy's group enter the field. They were excited engineers who finished studying the Illusory Strain Crystal and came to test its limits.

In the academy, now tied to politics, these unique students, unaware they were being watched, set up a big lens on the field.

"...I wonder what's going to happen."

Elcia couldn't reply to Gael's words. After watching Randy's strange actions for a while, something was shot at the school wall.

The two looked back at the school, but the trees blocked their view. They rushed to the field together, but the light was already gone, leaving just a white wall.

"I wonder what that was. I expected something more."

 "Me too."

Just as they smiled, thinking it was over, dark clouds gathered, and everything went dark.

In the strange weather, Elcia looked around and said, "What...?" Gael moved closer, saying, "Don't leave," and suddenly, light hit the school again.

A huge image of Randy appeared across the school.

"Candidate for Student Council President, Randolph Victor..."

 "...A single honest vote."

As the two said, "Wooooh!", cheers erupted. Looking back, the group was high-fiving and hugging with smiles.

Watching everyone enjoy themselves, the two felt envious.

 "Hey! What are you doing!"

 "Don't move there!"

A loud voice came from beyond the field.

 "Darn it! Scatter!"

 "Everyone, run!"

The students scattered as they heard the orders.

"Victoooooor! This is your doing, right!?"

A voice called Randy from afar. The two nodded, knowing something that big would be noticed.

Randy was caught by instructors Gardo and Burk. With a sad voice, saying, "Instructor, there's more to explain──" he was led away.

Elcia, watching his back, smiled softly and said, "Hehe".

"...What can I say, he was a very intense senior."

 "Indeed."

Gael, with a small smile, looked up at the clear sky and asked, "Is it... fun?"

"They're all getting along and having fun... If it's that person, it really seems possible."

 "...I suppose so."

The two looked enviously at Randy, now smaller in the distance. They thought, "Why am I here?"

 "Randolph Victor──"

Randy's experiment left a big impact on many students. It strongly affected how students should act, which Dario and Edgar, planning political moves, were struggling with.

In political planning, the two thought they were as good as Randy, but they didn't notice how weak their own base was because of their political moves.

They would soon realize their weak base was falling apart because of this chaos.
