Volume 3 Chapter 55 Grandmother's Request II
Cain went to the butler's room. He told the head butler about Aisha's request and talked about how to handle it. They decided to build the new bathhouse next to the mansion's current bath. Since many people would use it, they planned to make it big enough for 5 people to soak comfortably, with a washing area about 15 tatami mats in size.
Like always, with so many skilled people around, ideas came quickly and fit together well. Cain thought his grandfather had gathered a great team.
Mr. Nikolai, the third butler, was put in charge of building the bathhouse. Even though he's young, he's gaining experience to become the head butler when Cain's Uncle, Will, takes over. By evening, Mr. Nikolai had to make a plan and get his grandfather's approval. Cain went back to his room, feeling like it was someone else's problem.
"What should I do until evening? Maybe go to the library? Or... should I work on a magic tool to make hot water?" Cain decided to focus on the magic tool.
The Sanroze family uses a daily magic called [Hot Water], but it wouldn't work well when Cain wasn't around. It would also be a problem for public baths in Sanroze territory. Cain had studied a boiling water magic tool he bought recently, but turning it into a magic circle increased mana use.
"Hmm, I need to find a way to keep mana use low when turning it into a magic circle, or maybe use Seal Magic directly... what should I do?"
Without finding a good solution, it was already lunchtime. Even though he wasn't very hungry, Cain went to the dining hall for a change.
When he got there, Gardy and Barvish were waiting for him.
"Sir Cain, good morning. What are your plans for this afternoon? Will you relax in the mansion like this morning?"
Barvish asked about his afternoon plans. That's right, Cain had said he'd relax in the mansion this morning.
"I haven't decided yet. I'll think about it while eating lunch. Did you two already eat?"
Gardy replied, "Yes, we're done," and added, "Please take your time and enjoy your meal."
At the Margrave Shield household, lunch is usually sandwiches. Since Grandfather and others are busy, they rarely see family in the dining hall. Today, Cain was the only one eating there too.
Lunch was ham sandwiches and egg soup. The bread was a bit firm, but the rich wheat flavor and salty ham made it delicious. The soup was simple but tasty, with a gentle flavor.
After finishing the sandwich and drinking fragrant tea, Cain thought about his afternoon plans. He decided, "Mochi should be made by mochi specialists," so he chose to visit the magic tool shop he went to recently. He told Barvish and the others to get ready, then went to his room to change.

Since the weather was nice, they decided to walk instead of taking a carriage. They thought walking would be faster because the roads there are narrow. They took a wrong turn in a side alley and got a little lost, but still managed to arrive.
As usual, the shop was full of magic tools. Cain wondered if they ever had trouble with thieves. Thinking this, he entered the shop.
"Hello. Merida-san, are you here?"
Inside the dimly lit shop, no one was around, so Cain called out to the counter.
There was no answer from Merida. Instead, a man came from the back of the store.
"Welcome. Merida is out shopping nearby, but... how can I help you?"
The man was an elf. He was about as tall as Benjamin but even slimmer. His face was smaller and very handsome. His green hair was tied in a ponytail, even though he was male.
"You're the knight who came here the other day, right? Merida told me about you. Are you looking for magic tools again today?"
The handsome elf asked Cain casually.
