Volume 3 Chapter 56 Grandmother's Request III
"Hey, you! Sir Cain is young, but he's a noble with a knightly title. How can you talk like that on first meeting?"
Barvish stepped in front of Cain and spoke loudly to the elf man.
"My apologies, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I got too excited thinking my old wish might come true."
The elf man quickly changed his tone after Barvish's reaction.
"I'm Zain. I work here fixing and making magic tools. Sorry for being rude."
Zain introduced himself, stretched out his hand, and bowed politely.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Cain Sanroze Shamrock. I got my knightly title from Margrave Shield, but since I'm not an adult yet, no need for formalities."
Cain gently stopped Barvish, accepted the apology with a smile, and introduced himself too.
"I'm looking for a magic tool that can boil lots of water using less Mana, or one that saves Mana."
Cain explained why he came to Zain.
"That's interesting. But why do you need so much hot water?"
"Yeah, I'm curious too. I want to make hot water for a bathhouse—about 500 liters at a time."
When Cain explained, Zain looked surprised. Cain and the others tried hard not to laugh.
"Oh, I see. I thought it was for war or battles. It's cool to meet people with different ideas as you live longer."
Zain quickly hid his surprise and muttered.
"Most people would be surprised, right? But regular baths would help everyone's health and mood. Still, our current method in the Sanroze household can't help others easily."
Cain explained honestly why he needed the magic tool.
"Got it, I'll help. But this is secret stuff, so I need something in return."
"Uh, I can't pay much... How much?"
Cain asked nervously about the cost.
"No money, just Mana. I need lots of Mana for a magic tool, but it's hard to get. You showed up just in time."
Zain's eyes sparkled as he spoke.
"Mana? A tool needing so much Mana sounds dangerous."
Cain asked suspiciously.
"It could be dangerous, but I won't use it that way. I won't lie, so let me show you."
Zain said, "Wait a moment," and went to the back of the shop.
"Sir Cain, is that elf okay?"
Barvish asked quietly.
"For now, I think so. But if I don't give Mana, who knows?"
Cain replied, looking up slightly. Barvish said, "I'll handle it if needed."
"Sorry for the wait. This is the magic tool. It's old and can teleport."
Zain brought a short wand with a blue stone at the tip. He said something shocking casually.
"What? A teleportation tool! How is that not dangerous? It's dangerous just existing!"
Cain reacted strongly.
"I just want to go home. So, it's not dangerous the way I'll use it."
Zain answered with a smug look. Cain thought even a smug handsome face looks cool.
