Volume 3 Chapter 57 Grandmother's Request IV

 Cain used the Glasses of Analysis to check the teleportation magic tool. He wanted to see if Zain's words were true. Sure enough, the tool seemed really old—older than the time of heroes and sages.

 ~~~
 Magic Tool: Teleportation
 * Effect: Allows the user to teleport to places they've been before. Only works outdoors.
 * Activation Mana Cost: 1,000 (taken from the user)
 * Usage Mana Cost: Depends on the distance (taken from the tool's internal Mana)
 Note:
 * If the tool's internal Mana runs out, it must be recharged with 1,000,000 Mana all at once.
 * The person who recharges it becomes the new owner.
 * The current owner can register up to 3 users.
 ~~~

 "It's definitely a teleportation tool... but if I become its owner..."

 After thinking for a few minutes, Cain made up his mind.

 "I'll help, but only after I finish my own work. Also, I'll go with Mr. Zain to his hometown. That's my condition."

 Cain said this firmly.

 Zain looked Cain up and down, thinking hard. Finally, he spoke:

 "Got it. In return, I'll handle the magic tool. How about that?"

 "Sounds good. You can manage the teleportation tool. If I kept it, the royal family might take it right away."

 Cain replied quickly. He sighed, thinking, *I'd love to use it, but owning it would just stress me out every day.*

 After that, Cain told Zain what he needed. He asked Zain to make a magic tool for boiling water. The first one would be free, in exchange for charging the teleportation tool with mana. For any more tools, they'd figure out the cost later.

 He left the shop after asking them to come to Margrave Shield's mansion in a week to share the review results.

 "Oh, Sir Cain. Were you looking for another magic tool? Did Zain do something wrong?"

 Ms. Merida, back at the storefront, asked worriedly.

 "No, everything's fine. Zain agreed to make the tool I wanted. It was a good visit. I'll come back another time."

 Cain reassured Ms. Merida, said goodbye, and left.

 To sort things out with Zain, Cain went to a dining bar near the magic tool shop. After Barvish talked to the staff, they were led to a 3-person table by the wall.

 They ordered fruit water. After a while, the staff brought it and left. Cain secretly cooled the drink with magic since it was warm.

 "Sir Cain, was it okay to make that promise? That magic tool could be misused..."

 Barvish spoke, not finishing his sentence.

 "Yeah, it could be used for bad things. I thought Sir Cain should keep it safe."

 Even Gardy, usually quiet, shared his thoughts.

 "Your worries make sense. But I didn't want that tool out in the open. If I kept it, I'd have to tell Margrave Shield and my father. Then, it'd end up with the royal family. We wouldn't know who'd use it or how."

 Cain said all this in one breath, then drank some fruit water to clear his throat.

 "Also, I checked with the Glasses of Analysis. If I charge the tool with mana, I become its owner and can choose who uses it. So, after Zain goes home and comes back, I'll remove him as a user, making it unusable."

 Cain explained how he'd stop the teleportation tool from being misused.

 "Right, if neither Sir Cain nor Zain can use it, managing it stays the same as before."

 Gardy looked at Cain with admiration.

 "...Sir Cain, this plan works only if Zain returns to Margrave Shield's territory, right? Is that okay?"

 Barvish asked, looking worried.

 "Ah... yeah, it's okay. If they had time, they'd have returned from far away by now. Since they haven't, there must be a reason they can't leave for long..."

 Cain sounded a bit unsure, thinking it through.
