Volume 5 Chapter 9 Gardy's Worries III
Cain and Lydia talked about the orphan lighting project over dinner with Luke. Luke was surprised to hear the orphanage wasn't doing well. Cain told Luke to work with Lydia and Randolph to gather all the details and make a solid plan.
Right after dinner, Cain went straight to Gardy's room. Gardy was waiting anxiously for the proposal's result.
"Sir Cain, thank you so much. Now the kids and Noel can finally feel safe."
Gardy sounded relieved, but Cain shook his head.
"Gardy, it's too early to relax. We still need to finalize everything, start the project properly, and make sure the Sanroze family benefits too."
"That's true. Sir Luke is only interested in the plan for now. But since Sir Randolph is involved, there shouldn't be any big problems."
Cain smiled softly. "Even just the possibility is enough to make me happy."
Gardy nodded firmly and thanked Cain again. He promised to collect more information by tomorrow and hurried out.
"Gardy... sorry about that," Barvish said quietly, looking at Cain.
Cain gave a gentle smile. "It's okay. Gardy seemed worried, so it's understandable."
The next day, using the information Gardy brought, they worked on the details of the street lighting project. They split into teams of three and used the magic tool Cain created to make the lights. To keep the orphanage safe, the magic tool was stored at the soldiers' station, and the responsible orphans went there daily to get it. They prepared a detailed proposal for the project.
Lydia looked at the proposal with a big smile. "Thanks to Cain and the others, we made a really good plan."
Randolph frowned slightly as he organized the papers. "But with more immigrants coming to New Town and the street, it's causing problems for the orphanage. I'll have each department check if similar issues are happening elsewhere."
"Yeah. Gardy's report helped us act quickly, but some places might be ignoring these problems. When a town or street is small, issues don't show up, but when it grows, problems appear."
Lydia sighed softly.
Cain tried to cheer them up. "Mother Lydia, Randolph, no one's experienced a town growing this fast before. It's normal. Maybe it's better to focus on stopping problems like this from happening again."
They both looked at Cain and smiled. "You're right," they said.
The next day, Cain explained the proposal to Luke, who approved it immediately. Within a few days, the plan would be sent to the maintenance department and practical talks would start. From then on, Cain began making a new light magic tool that orphans could use easily.

Cain spent his days working on magic tools and an abacus until the trip to Margrave Shield Territory. This time, he planned to stay overnight there, then move to World Tree Forest the next day and return soon after. He packed enough clothes for three days.
They would carry their luggage in the magic bag Cain had bought recently. Lydia whispered, "I want one too..." but was told it wasn't possible this time since they weren't visiting the village in the World Tree Forest.
"Sir Cain, the carriage is ready. Is there anything you forgot?" Lala asked, checking one last time before leaving.
"Clothes are good, shoes too. I have my magic bracelet on, and Baldish will carry the magic bag. Nothing's missing. Let's go."
"Okay," Lala said, and they headed out together toward the entrance.
