Volume 1 Chapter 15 Gouriki-Kun And I Have Become More Familiar. I Feel Like There Might Be A Misunderstanding, Though

Summary of the previous chapter: Friends are increasing rapidly.

Well, yesterday's karaoke was moderately lively, and I think we successfully became friends. In times like these, having Shinonome-san, the Mood Maker who can smoothly bridge the gap regardless of gender, is really helpful.

When I get to the classroom, the usual group of four should be there, engaging in trivial conversations. However, since everyone hasn't arrived yet today, I'm listening to music on my phone, thinking about what songs to sing next time at karaoke.

Then, there's someone glancing at me from a distance.

"Gouriki-kun? If you want to talk, come over here."

 I say that and gesture.

"Oh, sure. I'll come over now."

While saying that, Gouriki-kun comes over, reminding me of a small dog.

"By the way, what are you listening to, Hata-kun?"

"Oh, you know, just trying to be able to sing if we go to karaoke again."

I set my phone to mono audio and took off one earbud, placing it in Gouriki-kun's ear so he could listen to the song.

"I was listening to 'ONLY LOVE' by Johnny's idol group, Tornado, sung by Kimura-kun and others. I thought it was a good song."

"Wasn't that the theme song for Hana Yori Dango Final? It's a great song."

"Yeah, the song itself is good, and it seems like idol group songs are designed to sound good even if the singing abilities aren't that high."

"I wonder if Hata-kun is still bothered by being told he's not bad but not good at singing."

 "Well, that might be true."

As we were talking about such things, my usual three friends entered the classroom.

And the one who reacted, as expected, was Shinonome-san.

"Good morning! Hata-pippi and Ayumi-cchi, you two look like a couple when sharing earphones while listening to music?!"

 I chuckled and replied,

"Sharing earphones isn't something only couples do, even male friends can do that, right?"

"By the way, do you know that sound differs between the left and right earphones?"

 "I know, that's why I'm using a mono sound."

"Wow, Hata-pippi, you're too good at this. Truly a natural, even luring in a trap."

"Don't say things that could be misinterpreted. Right, Gouriki-kun?"

When I said that, Gouriki-kun laughed it off, trying to deflect.

"Th-that's right... But I wonder if we end up looking like a couple?"

 I shrugged in response,

"Nah, we don't look like that, do we?"

 However, Saikachi-san chuckled and said,

"Well, to an outsider, you guys look like a silly couple."

"Whaaat... Well, if Saikachi-san says so, let's stop."

"Why didn't you listen when I said it?"

"After all, I think it's Shinonome-san, maybe joking?"

"You think so? That's not way."

Well, aside from that, let me introduce Gouriki-kun to Saikachi-san and Hirose-kun.

"This is Gouriki-kun. And this girl here is Saikachi-san, and this boy here is Hirose-kun. Oh, by the way, Gouriki-kun is a boy."

"Ah, nice to meet you. I'm Saikachi Eri.

It's written as 'Saikachi' with the character for 'plum blossom' in the west."

 And then Shinonome-san interrupted.

"Just to make sure. I'm Shinonome Sayuri. Nice to meet you! Well, Sayuri is not my real name though."

And Hirose-kun chuckled while giving his self-introduction.

"I am Hirose Akihito, nice to meet you."

 "Yes, I am Gouriki Ayumi."

And well, Gouriki-kun easily joined our group.

Namiki-san still seems to have some barriers, huh?

Well, rushing into actions like this usually doesn't lead to good outcomes, so maybe I should take a little more time.

Compared to Namiki-san, Gouriki-kun looks attractive enough to be considered a beautiful girl, but since their gender is male, he might not attract negative emotions like hostility or jealousy from girls. Maybe it's just because of his introverted personality.

Well, since I've made more friends I can get along with, it's not worth thinking too deeply about it.

And although I didn't think much about it before due to the chaos at the beginning of the school year, I do want to consider my future after high school and the various expenses that come with hanging out with friends. I want to secure some source of income.

Certainly, deciding what I want to do in the future is difficult, especially since I don't know how my academic performance will turn out.

Of course, working in the adult entertainment industry is honestly not something I'd be up for.

Having experience in that industry can be useful in various ways, and if I could endure that, I could probably work elsewhere as long as it's not too harsh.

Places that say things like, "If you can't work here, you won't be able to work anywhere," or "Even if you quit here, you won't be able to make it anywhere," try to retain employees by instilling fear and stopping them from thinking with their unique reasoning.

Though, in the "past," when I was young, I used to quit easily when faced with unpleasant situations. That was a habit I had to overcome.

There are many service industries and black companies out there with working conditions not much different from the adult entertainment industry, so I want to avoid working in such places.

And, when summer comes, I'll probably have to buy clothes again. If I want to go to places like karaoke, game centers, bowling, etc., just relying on pocket money will honestly be tough. So, it seems like I have no choice but to work part-time.

For high school students, places where it seems possible to work after school are at a convenience store, supermarket, handling the cash register, or at places like karaoke boxes for customer service. Also, in the food and beverage industry, there are light manual labor jobs on holidays or jobs related to moving.

I don't think customer service would be a problem since I've been doing it for years, but the adult entertainment industry is a bit unique, and I honestly don't know if the skills would be applicable in other customer service roles.

For now, when I have free time, I'll try looking for part-time jobs for high school students on job search sites using my smartphone or computer.

But, I don't really want part-time work to take up too much of my time.

Anyway, when I become a working adult, I'll have to work like crazy anyway.

Hello, we have other project about someone who has returned from an isekai. The main character is a hero who has defeated the Demon Lord. However, for some reason, the human-demon war has resumed and will take place in the MC's original world. The MC, unaware of this, meets a Saint from that world and asks them to join the war. But what does the MC say? They refuse. Is it because their love was rejected by the princess when they adventured together in the past or are they simply fed up? And are the MC will join later? You can find out by clicking on the following => [Link]

We also have a similar genre returned from isekai but has different MC's characteristic. The story is punishing someone who troll in SNS, someone who cheat and many more. You can find out in => [Link]
