Volume 1 Chapter 67 Until Saturday, Is Kashiyama-San Working Consecutive Shifts To Gather Funds For The Future?

Well, Sunday ended with just meeting up with Fumi-chan, showing her around her house, and reviewing my school preparations.

"Oh, I forgot to check the shifts for next week's part-time job. I should confirm."

I sent a message to Ikurumi-san through the social media app on my smartphone.

[Is there any specific place I should work for next week's part-time job?]

 After a while, I received a reply from Ikurumi-san.

[Next week, Kashiyama-san will be working shifts from Monday to Saturday, from opening until the evening, so if it's tough for you, there's no need to push yourself.]

[Then, should I help with the opening preparations?]

[Oh, that would be a great help for us.]

[Understood. So, I'll come in for the patisserie job next week, except on Sunday, from 7 in the morning until a little after 10!]

 [Thank you, I appreciate it.]

With that, I decided to take the earliest shift at the patisserie next week, except on Sundays.

The reason why Kashiyama-san is working a lot of shifts is probably to get money for buying doujin in the future.

Even though these comics are usually short, they can cost between 500 and 1000 yen each. People often buy many of them.

While some comics are sold in stores, others can only be found at doujin events.

Also, buying different items can add up quickly. It's not unusual for people to spend tens of thousands of yen at one event.

In fact, at events like Comiket, it's common for people to spend an average of around 20,000 yen each.

As a result, fans of these comics are known for working hard and being willing to work long hours. But sometimes, they take weekends off for these events, which can be a challenge for their employers.

There are also many girls in the adult entertainment industry who share a similar mindset, and it was tough to gather them on Sundays.

Leaving that aside, the next morning came early, and as expected, Fumi-chan didn't come. I quickly had breakfast with cornflakes and milk, along with a partially eaten apple with the skin still on it, and went to the patisserie for work.

 "Good morning."

As promised, I arrived at the shop around 15 minutes before 7 o'clock.

 "Oh, good morning."

 Ikurumi-san is always punctual.

"It's still tough to start getting ready at 7 o'clock as usual."

"Oh no, actually, during the Golden Week, it's a slow period, so we're just taking it easy."

"Is it really slow during the Golden Week?"

"Well, since we're a western-style confectionery shop in town, we don't have many customers who specifically come during the Golden Week. Also, as it gets warmer, people tend to prefer refreshing treats over sweet ones. So our busy season as a patisserie is from October to April."

"I see, during summer, fresh confectioneries tend to spoil easily, and it would be expensive to prepare a lot of dry ice. It's a difficult situation."

"I graduated from a confectionery vocational school, but they taught us how to make delicious cakes, they didn't teach us how to sell them."

"That's true. Although school is a place to study, it doesn't necessarily teach you the ways to sell things and make a living. Especially up until high school or vocational school."

"Yeah, I think Hata-kun is really different in that aspect. It's the first time I've had someone help with the not-so-fun work of preparing for the opening."

"Oh, that might be true. But usually, preparation and planning are important, and someone who can do the not-so-fun parts properly is definitely necessary."

I learned that a lot during my time in the adult entertainment industry.

Cleaning the reception area and the girls' waiting room, checking the contents of small tool sets used by the girls, making sure things like c**doms are properly stocked, and costumes are washed cleanly. These things should be a given, but when there's a shortage of manpower, it becomes difficult to manage all of that properly.

Doing the basics that those at the bottom handle without cutting corners is important.

Well, not only here, but people who make cakes in their own shops have a hard time too.

So, like always, I start by getting rid of the little bits of thread and hair on my clothes. I use my hands and sticky sheets to clean them. I also dust off the lights, and clean the inside and outside of the glass display case. I have to make sure the windows outside the shop are super clean too. Cleanliness is really important, not just for the toilets, which are really important for staying healthy, but also for the walls, floor, sink, mirror, and taps, which I make all shiny.

I sweep the entrance and the floor, and then mop it. I wipe down the tables and chairs, and when I finish cleaning the shop, Ikurumi-san comes out of the kitchen with freshly baked cakes.

"Thank you for always cleaning so well. I really appreciate it."

"I think it would be good to make a step-by-step guide and a checklist for cleaning after anyone can follow."

"I'm sorry; I haven't had time to do that."

"It's okay. If I have some free time, I'll make them."

 "Then please do. Thank you!"

And Kashiyama-san also came to work.

"Good morning. The shop looks really clean as always. It's amazing."

"Good morning, Kashiyama-san. Well, I'm finished for the day."

"Yes, thank you for helping with the preparations for the opening."

Then Ikurumi-san gives me some Western sweets.

"These pumpkin brownies, Halloween tiramisu, and pumpkin pie are new items planned for this year's Halloween. Please try them and let me know what you think."

"Are we already getting ready for new Halloween items?"

"Yes, we need to prepare flyers and things like that around August. Actually, we don't have much time."

"I see. You have about four months to decide what to sell as new products for Halloween and Christmas this year."

"And we also need to think about trial products for Christmas at the same time."

"I understand. Well then, I'll take them."

So, with that, I head home, holding unmistakably out-of-season Halloween sweets.

Hello, we have other project about someone who has returned from an isekai. The main character is a hero who has defeated the Demon Lord. However, for some reason, the human-demon war has resumed and will take place in the MC's original world. The MC, unaware of this, meets a Saint from that world and asks them to join the war. But what does the MC say? They refuse. Is it because their love was rejected by the princess when they adventured together in the past or are they simply fed up? And are the MC will join later? You can find out by clicking on the following => [Link]

We also have a similar genre returned from isekai but has different MC's characteristic. The story is punishing someone who troll in SNS, someone who cheat and many more. You can find out in => [Link]
