Volume 2 Chapter 14 Is Fumi-Chan's School Cultural Festival Getting Ready？
After we finished our home economics club activities, like washing dishes and cleaning up, we headed home.
Besides treating everyone to chocolate cake today, I think it's a good idea to personally thank Nakagaito after the sports festival. However, we can't spend too much since we already spent money on the firefly watching event the other day.
When we reach Tsunaduma station, the girls will go their separate ways.
"See you tomorrow. Oh, let's borrow the gym's volleyball court for practice. The sports festival is in two days, so we should make sure we play well."
I said that, and Nakagaito agreed.
"Well, that's true. We don't have much time, but it's better than not practicing together."
Then, Shinonome-san smiled mischievously and said,
"It depends on how much Hata-pippi, the amateurs, have improved, but since it's Hata-pippi, I believe he has improved quite a bit."

The girl addressing me like this is the only one besides my childhood friend Fumi-chan, who moved next door, so I recognize her right away.
And then, Fumi-chan sits down next to me.
"Yeah, is Fumi-chan coming home now?"
"Yes, we were deciding on what to do for the school festival that will be held on Saturday and Sunday the week after next. First-year students can't do food or drinks, unless it's an attraction of some kind, and the third-year students are doing a drama."
"Oh, food and drinks need to be reported to the public health center, which may be difficult for first year students. Besides, in the first place, the festival is in early summer to not disturb exams, so the reason why the 3rd year festival is limited to dramas was done so that it would not take much time to decide on the content and prepare."
"Yeah. But it's hard to think the attraction."
"If Fumi-chan is saying that, does that mean you're taking a lot of time to decide on attraction?"
For school festivals, haunted houses and mazes are popular.
When I said that, Fumi-chan nodded.
"Yeah, that's true. We've been making mini roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, and coffee cup rides recently."
"Well, it seems like there are more and more attractions like that during cultural festivals. But, it's quite a big task to manage their safety."
When I said that, Fumi-chan agreed with me by nodding.
"That's true. People tend to prefer traditional haunted houses for that reason."
"Real escape games are also very popular, but creating scenarios and puzzles can be challenging. If you don't want to put in that much effort, how about a room with a casino atmosphere using darts, roulette, or even cards?"
When I suggested that, Fumi-chan looked surprised and said,
"Huh? A casino?"
"Yeah, you could have poker or blackjack, but maybe something simpler like Red Dock (Yablon) would be better."
"Red Dog?"
"Red Dog is a card game where you draw one card at a time, excluding the joker. If the third card falls between the numbers of the first and second cards, you win. The difference between the numbers of the first and second cards determines the prize multiplier."
"Oh, I see. Can we find cheap games like roulette or darts in places like the Jungle?"
"If it's just basic party items, they shouldn't be too expensive."
"Hmm, I see. That could be a good idea. We don't usually hold similar events at my school."
"It might be nice to use candy or snacks instead of chips. If you buy them, you'll have more snacks, and if you lose, they'll be gone, so you won't have to distribute too many."

"Probably."
"Hmm... It seems like many first-year classes do haunted houses, so tomorrow I'll suggest creating a room that looks like a casino."

"No, today we were making chocolate cake in the home economics club and sharing it with everyone."

When I said that, Fumi-chan seemed a little upset.
"Ah, I wish I went to the same school as Atchan. It seems fun every day."
"Well, yeah, our school isn't big on sports clubs, and it's not a super strict public school, so it's pretty relaxed."

"Because Atchan is like that, wouldn't it be nice to have a fun day out with me on a day off?"

"Oh, definitely. Well then, I'm really excited about Sunday."
"Got it. Also, you can expect me to carry the packages with lots of energy."
"Well, there might be a lot of packages, you know."
We talked about these things casually as we arrived at our house.
"Then, let's make a promise for Sunday, okay?"
After saying that, I watched Fumi-chan go into the neighboring house, and I wrote down in my planner, "Shopping date with Fumi-chan."
