Well, I think my date with Fumi-chan at the rose garden was a big success.
And tomorrow I'm going to go shopping with Gouriki-kun for Hirose-kun's birthday present.
I got home, had a meal and a bath, and then relaxed in my room. I sent a message to Gouriki-kun.
'Gouriki-kun, good evening. How about 10 am in front of the ticket gate at Kenbune Funabashi Station for the meeting place and time for tomorrow's shopping?'
I got a reply soon after I sent the message.
I always feel that girls reply so fast at times like this.
'Good evening, Hata-kun. Yeah, that's fine with me. See you tomorrow then.'
'Nice to meet you too.'
Is this okay for now?
And the next day.
I woke up a bit late on Sunday morning because I had no school or work, but I had enough time to have breakfast and get ready, so I arrived at the meeting place 15 minutes early.
But Gouriki-kun was already there, looking at his watch.
I raised my hand slightly and called out to him.
"Sorry, did you wait a lot?"
He looked up and raised his arm the same way.
"Nah, I just got here too, so it's cool."

This kind of exchange felt like I did it with Fumi-chan yesterday.
"So, what kind of store are we going to buy the present from?"
Gouriki-kun asked me that, so I answered.
"Well, I want to discuss that with you too, Gouriki-kun. Hirose-kun is pretty good at everything, you know. But I guess he cares more about studying than sports, right?"
I said that and Gouriki-kun nodded.
"Yeah, he was pretty good at volleyball at the ball tournament, and his test scores were good, too, and Hirose-kun handles pretty much everything with ease. But I guess he cares more about studying than sports, right?"
It looks like Gouriki-kun has the same idea as me.
"Then maybe some stationery. Or else a phone case, or a card holder, or a wallet, or something like a handkerchief that anyone can use."
I said that and Gouriki-kun said with a troubled look.
"Hmm, that gives us a lot of options, huh?"
I also said with a bit of difficulty.
"Yeah, it does. And we also have to think about how much money we should spend on the gift. But we have the whole day today, so let's go around some stationery shops and gift shops and see what they have and how much they cost. Maybe we'll find something nice."
I said that and Gouriki-kun nodded and said.

"Let's go to the Lost store in the West Department Annex for now. I think they have stationery and stuff there."

Shopping at LaLaPort would be fine too, but that place is mainly for clothes and there are few stationery and stuff shops, so it's not efficient to move around.
Also, it would be kind of awkward to run into a girl I know there.
So we walked to the Lost store in the West Department Annex.
The stationery section of Lost is pretty big and they have a lot of stationery.
"Oh, this might be handy to have one of these?"
I picked up a friction ballpoint pen that can erase what I write.
Gouriki-kun agrees with my words and says,
"Having a pen that can erase things could be convenient in various situations."
"Well, it seems that using it for important documents or mail could lead to trouble."

"I see, indeed there are cases where it would be inconvenient if what you wrote disappeared. Maybe it's best to mention it when giving it as a gift?"

So I took the pencil case, the multifunctional ballpoint pen, and the friction ballpoint pen to the cashier.
And then, I said to the lady at the cashier.
"Excuse me, this is a birthday present that I'm sending, so can you wrap it for me?"
"Sure, is this a gift for your girlfriend?"
"No, no, this is for a male friend from my class, so please wrap it accordingly."
"Oh, okay, I'll do that."
Somehow, I feel like the lady thinks that Gouriki-kun is my girlfriend...well, it doesn't really matter if she misunderstands.
"Thank you for your purchase," said the smiling lady as she bid us farewell.
"Haha, maybe there was a misunderstanding."
Gouriki-kun chuckled.
