Volume 2 Chapter 54 Hey, I Suggested Throwing A Birthday Party For Hirose-Kun
So, Gouriki-kun and I came to buy a birthday present for Hirose-kun, and after we finished shopping, we thought about eating something at the cafe. Then, by chance, we met Shinonome-san and Saikachi-san, and we all decided to go to the cafe and chat.
Then, I tried suggesting something that came to mind.
"It's Hirose-kun's birthday the day after tomorrow, and I was thinking, if everyone and Hirose-kun can make it, how about we have a simple birthday party after school? We could do it here, in a slightly larger karaoke party room, at my part-time job's patisserie, at a family restaurant, or if there's a better place, we could do it somewhere else too."
When I said that, Shinonome-san was the first to agree.
"Having a birthday party, I also agree. I think it's really nice."
However, Gouriki-kun shook his head.
"I'm fine after school the day after tomorrow... but what does Hirose-kun think about having a birthday party during the test period?"
Certainly, Hirose-kun is quite focused on studying.
"Oh, now that you mention it, that's true. Hirose-kun seems to prioritize studying."
When I said that, Saikachi-san smiled and said,

'Hi. The day after tomorrow is Hirose-kun's birthday and if he agrees, I want to have a birthday party at a karaoke box. Do you want to join?'

'Of course I will join. But I don't have a present ready. What should I do?'
And Namiki-san said
'Yes, I want to join too. But I don't have a present ready either. What should we do?'
I said
'Then do you have time to buy a birthday present now? I bought mine at the Lost in Funabashi and then ate lunch at the Mag. I can guide you if we meet at the exit on the uphill side of Keisei Kenbune Funabashi station.'
After I sent that, I got a reply from both of them right away.
'Okay, I'll ask you then'
'Yes, please do'
Then it was time to decide when to meet up, but it was 2 pm now.
'Alright, how about we meet at 4 pm, considering the time to get ready and travel?'
And I got another quick reply from them.
'I'm fine with that'
'Yes, that's okay with me'
'Well, then that's settled'

"They both want to join. But they don't have any gifts ready, so they're going to look for some now and meet up at 4 pm"

Saikachi-san chuckled and said.
"Hata-kun, I thought you would be more smart-looking, so it's a little surprising."
I respond with a wry smile.
"Well, I'm not really that efficient. So I try to think and act in various ways."
Eventually, it seems like everyone is heading home.
