The day after Tsukiko's surprising words, I woke up with the most confused look on my face in my whole life.
As soon as I woke up, memories of last night came back to me naturally.
Tsukiko didn't stop after her surprising statement.
'So, Yuusuke, don't worry about anything. Just follow the path that feels right to you, with all your strength. I fully support your decision.'
I must have looked surprised because it was unexpected coming from the usually strict Tsukiko.
Seeing my face, Tsukiko laughed.
'In the end, the choice you make will be the correct one. In other words, you have to make the choice yourself. No one can help you with that.'
It was her usual mix of strictness and kindness.
'More than anything, I believe in you.'
She said, and her voice suddenly becoming gentle.
'I'm certain you can choose a path that will save everyone.'
I can't even imagine how much determination it took for her to say those words.
Even though Hinata and Tsukiko were determined, I can't just do nothing.
"..."
Lisha and Kanami's faces from yesterday.
They went home, their tears gone.
I thought if I stayed quiet, they could go back to Asteris with happy memories, but it didn't happen.
I don't want them to look like that.
I have to think and decide.
The morning I decided, the sun was hidden, and news came inviting us to the final battle.

I quickly climbed the roof, and Kou was already there.
Others were awake, on high alert.
Asserting its existence, it appeared boldly.
Bathed in light but still dark, it has a pair of wings like a crow.
Clearly, it is not an earthly creature.
Yet, it is not a creature made by magic either.
"A god...?"
This crow surely emanates divine power.
It could be a god or a messenger of a god.
Sakaki Tsuzuri has summoned, through the Magic Domain, a god that shouldn't exist in her fantasy realm.
But, right now, there's no sign of the Magic Domain or even magic itself.
Only the presence of an unmistakable pure god.
Kou, who was gazing at the crow beside me, said.
"Is this your first time seeing it? It's the one that brought us to this world."
"That...?"
"Yes. That's why nobody questions it. Human interference is not possible."
Just as Kou said.
No one who sees this would think it's humans or demons magic.
This creature's existence proves the God-Demon War.
But Tsukiko and Ayaka-san taught me.
They told me that gods can exist on Earth, although their power might be different.
"So, the New World (Try Order) controls this creature."
"Well, if that's true, the story becomes even more interesting."
"It's not a story to celebrate, though."
At least this means there are still magicians as strong as Sakaki Tsuzuri.
As I readied my sword so that it would fall out at any moment, the crow dropped off a letter silently.
As soon as I caught it, the clear sky appeared as if it had never been there before.

As I opened it, Japanese characters appeared, burning into the paper.

...Really, such a convoluted expression.
However, I understand its meaning.
It's a language commonly used in Asteris.
The "on the last day of the journey" refers to the end of the year, which on Earth is December 31st.
And "full sun" is the moment when Asteris' sun and the surrounding halo of light overlap. In other words, it's noon.
I don't know what "Kakehashi (Bridge to the Universe)" signifies, but the "key" likely refers to Lisha and her companions.
The intent of this letter is clear.
'We'll fight you at noon on December 31st, so bring it on.'
What Japanese indicates is the Earth; this expression is likely referring to the Asteris. In other words, it's an invitation from the organization to which magicians of Earth and Asteris belong. The possibility of a trap is high. The opponent is likely preparing the best to welcome us.
The deadline for the God-Demon War is the end of this year, specifically December 31st. Whether we try to escape or hide, they likely have the confidence to secure all the 'keys' in one day. Moreover, Mevia and others are captured over there. There's no choice but to fight.
I looked up at the sky. It felt like something was watching us from there; I couldn't shake that feeling. Magic power burns, swirling around my whole body like a storm. Finally, the time has come.
