A massive dragon's body lies severed.
"Enchantment magic, spell activation. Commencing the extraction of 'Strengthening points' from the target monster."
I chanted an incantation.
It is a spell to absorb 'Strengthening points' from defeated monsters.
'Confirmed the defeat of 1 intermediate-level dragon.'
'Converted the remaining magic power into 'Strengthening points'.'
'Acquired 700 'Strengthening points'.'
'Transferred 'Strengthening points' to the spellcaster.'
'Ending the spell.'
As expected of an intermediate-level dragon, I gained 700 points in one go.
"For now... I'll transfer 300 points to 'Copper Sword' and make it 'Copper Sword+10000'. It's a nice round number. The remaining points will be transferred to 'Cloth Armor'."
Newly acquired 'Strengthening points' are transferred. With this, my equipment has become 'Copper Sword + 10000' and 'Cloth Armor + 3133'.
"Rain-san, Bernard-san, I'm glad you're safe!"
When we returned to the guild, Nina came running out from the reception.
"Here, for now I cut out some dragon scales. The corpse is still in the forest, so I'll call a dismantler later to gather more materials."
We take out a few scales. They serve as proof of slaying the dragon, but the scales themselves have value as decorative items and materials for weapons and armor.
"You really defeated the dragon with just the two of you...!"
Nina looks at me and Bernard-san in surprise.
"It wasn't just the two of us. It was this guy alone."
Bernard-san laughs.
"I was just a burden. But he... he's strong. Unbelievably so. From today, he's the ace of this guild."
Bernard-san grinned.

"If it's coming from the top-ranked guild member like you, no one's gonna complain."
The Guild Master emerged from the reception area. She was a beautiful woman around thirty years old with shoulder-length neatly-cut red hair.
"Well, Elsie. I'm relinquishing my position as the ace."
"You don't seem too upset about it, though."
The Guild Master, Elsie-san, chuckled wryly.
"Haha, when you see the unbelievable strength of this guy, it's hard not to be entertained. And he's only going to get stronger... I have a feeling about that."
Bernard-san spoke with excitement.
"I'll count on you for the 'Blue Crystal,' newcomer. Of course, I and the others will do our best too."
"Yes, thank you very much."
I thanked Bernard-san.
It's quite different from the atmosphere of the 'Fang of the Beast King,' I thought. For example, even Bernard-san's attitude from earlier.
