Next, we will walk deeper into the dungeon.
"...hmm?"
Then I noticed that the ground was wet.
Sometimes I heard the sound of water dripping, so when I looked up, I saw water droplets falling from the rocks sticking out from the ceiling. This is similar to what is called a stalactite.
"Water..."
Spring water was flowing not only from the ceiling but also from the cracks in the rocks that formed the walls of the cave.
Although it may not look dirty, it is best to avoid drinking or touching it as much as possible.
Before entering this dungeon, there was a large river nearby. It looks like it's running underneath or beside it, so water must be getting in from somewhere.

Chester calmly replied, and Fatina clenched her fist in front of her chest, as if reminding herself, "So, it is!"
While it's just a guess, this dungeon must have been built a long time ago.
Since it still exists, it should be safe as long as powerful magic isn't intentionally used against the walls or dangerous monsters don't appear and destroy it.
"As for water, if need be, I can use magic to avoid it. Please don't worry."
"R-Really? If something happens, I'll rely on you, Mel-san!"
Indeed, Mel can use water-based magic. We'll rely on her magic if the situation calls for it.
After a while, we advanced and reached a spacious area.
Although the ceiling is quite high, the path has become narrow, only allowing one person to pass due to the ponds on both sides.
The ponds are deep, and the bottom is too dark to see.

Chester looks ahead on the narrow path and holds his breath.
"Yeah, let's proceed slowly and carefully here──"
Just as I said that, I felt something move in the pond.

Chester panics and draws his sword, and a giant fish emerges from the water. There must be at least ten of them.
"Ah, a-aah! I-Is this also a monster!?"
The scales of the fish-like monster are pitch black, and its body length is about the same as a human. Its dorsal fin and teeth are sharp and pointed.
'Grrraaaah!'
The monsters all let out a simultaneous cry towards us, and water gradually gathers in the air── and is released towards us. It's like the magic Mel used on the Cretia soldiers.
"T-These monsters can use magic!?"
"Chester-san! Please step back!"
Fatina stepped forward, swinging her sword and shouting as she sliced through the water projectiles launched by the monsters.
"Ice, pierce through the enemies── (Ice Needle)!"
When Mel chanted the spell, multiple ice pillars appeared in front of her and flew straight towards the monsters.
'Gahhk!!'
Some of the ice pillars hit the monsters' bodies, piercing right through them. However, the monsters that evaded the ice pillars were lurking underwater, observing our movements. It seemed like they hadn't given up yet.
I stepped forward and approached the pond, targeting all the monsters captured with the Multiple Chant, and unleashed the Instant Death Magic spell.
"(Death)"
The released wave of pitch-black energy chased after the remaining monsters that had escaped into the water── and hit them.
After a while, the bodies of the remaining monsters floated up, lifeless and motionless.
"Oh, is it over...?"
Chester is sweating from his forehead, still holding his sword and staring at the monsters.
"Yeah, looks like it."
"Phew, that was close... Can't let my guard down, even on the upper layer..."
These monsters use a kind of magic-like technique to attack from the water, making it tough for close combat warriors to defeat them. If people want to handle them, it's probably better for magicians or archers.
"By the way, do monsters just suddenly appear in this dungeon?"
"Probably because the water is connected all over the place. It's hard to predict where they'll come from."
The Poison Toad suddenly appeared from the waterfall basin, and the monsters this time did too.
In the Emerald Green Dungeon, there were a lot of monsters like Ogres and Minotaurs that were purely strong, but in the Aquaflow Cavern, it seems like they come out of unexpected places to attack suddenly.
"Let's keep going."

We passed through a narrow path between two ponds and headed to the next location. Then, we entered another ordinary passage, just like before.

"W-Wait a minute! Are you the adventurer who defeated the monster that attacked Voltana with [Instant Death Magic]!?"
"It's just that I was the one who delivered the final blow."
"I see! Your reputation has reached Trasverum! I couldn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes, but now I understand your strength!"
Chester suddenly started smiling after looking serious for a while. When Fatina and Mel saw him, they both smirked and laughed.
"Ark-sama, multiple footsteps are coming this way."
Fatina suddenly reported, staring intently ahead into the dungeon.
"Do you know what's going on?"
"It seems like they're in a hurry... they're getting closer."
After a while, several sounds approached.
As we waited to see what was happening, a group of adventurers appeared, running towards us.
"Hey! You guys! Run quickly!"
One of them, wearing a thief-like leather armor, noticed us and shouted.
"What's wrong, did something happen?"
I asked, and a man who had come close gasped for breath and said,
"T-there's a... a wraith! A wraith appeared!"
Chester's face turned pale all at once when he heard that.
"I-it's a wraith!? Th-this is no joke!! Did you bring it here?!"
"It wasn't us! It appeared when we were trying to go from the upper layer to the middle layer!"
"This is bad... We need to escape quickly!"
Just as Chester was about to run away, the temperature around us suddenly dropped.
"This is... Ark-sama!"
"Yes."
Almost at the same time, Fatina and I unsheathed our swords and stared intently at the source of the disturbance, the dungeon ahead.
Slowly, a completely black figure wrapped in a dark cloth from head to toe appeared.
