Volume 6 Chapter 21 Rebirth Of Rail Girard
I kneel in front of Mr. Lucian, who is holding me up, while Sir Stefan is beside me, and Elder Brother Chrisrain is crying softly while hugging Sir Roxas. The servants from the Girard family are quietly watching us.
The Duke's servants really don't get flustered.
"Is it time?"
Sir Roxas looks really annoyed, and Sir Marx pats him on the shoulder.
"Yeah, Father."
Sir Roxas nods.
"Alright, everyone! Just like we planned!"
When Sir Marx gives the order, all the servants stand up and start moving quickly.
They pull a rope hanging from the chapel ceiling, and a big cloth falls down behind Sir Marx.
The cloth has 'Rail Girard Welcome Celebration Party' written on it in big letters.
The once-serious chapel is suddenly decorated with flowers, lamps, and ribbons, and the benches are moved aside as tables and lots of food are brought in from the door at the back of the chapel.
"This means the whole plan was known."
"What's going on, Roxas? The plan was for me and Roxas to chase after Lucian, who was running away with Lydia, and Chrisrain would follow Roxas, and you'd escape with Peach Bun. Can we still run away?"
Mr. Lucian looks up at the welcome banner for Sir Rail and Sir Stefan mutters as if he understands.
Sir Stefan, looking confused, asks Sir Roxas.
"No way, it's definitely weird to run away now, Your Highness."
"Oh dear... So our plan was completely known to Sir Marx. T-t-t-totally."
"Chrisrain, stop talking like that. What do you have stuffed in your chest?"
Chrisrain, who is acting strangely, is glared at by Sir Roxas.
"My special, giant meat bun. Want some?"
Elder Brother Chrisrain digs into his chest and pulls out a meat bun.
So that's what the big chest was hiding.
Two huge meat buns are taken out, and for some reason, they're still warm.
I wonder if Elder Brother Chrisrain is okay. I hope he's not burned, with those meat buns in his chest.
"Pumpkin pudding!"
Eir-Eir, who has been busy preparing since morning and hasn't eaten much, flaps her arms happily at the sight of the meat buns.
"Hey, round bun. Don't eat meat buns that came from there."
"Pudding!"
Eir-Eir is mad at Sir Roxas for worrying about her. It seems like she's saying, "Shut up!"
"It's fine, I'm the type who takes care of food. I had protective magic put on it. By Stefan."
"Ah, it's okay. That meat bun has a magical shield that protects it from any attacks. It was in Chrisrain's chest, but because of the magic shield, it's safe to eat."
Sir Stefan nods confidently.
A meat bun protected by the Holy King's magic. It feels really special. It even looks shiny.
"Even I would get burned if I kept a warm meat bun in my chest."
"Don't put it in there. Don't make it warm."
"It wouldn't taste good if it's not warm, right?"
Sir Roxas frowns at Elder Brother Chrisrain's words as he lets out a deep sigh.
"Anyway, putting the meat bun aside, Roxas, Lydia, what's going on here?"
Sir Stefan straightens up and speaks as if he's getting back on track.
"Well, as you can see..."
"Um, yes."
It's hard to explain, so I look down at Eir-Eir in my arms.
Elder Brother Chrisrain gave a big meat bun to Eir-Eir, who is munching on it with her small body and tiny mouth, almost swallowing it whole.
In Mr. Lucian's arms, I'm holding my dad, Ms. Famine, Eir-Eir, and the meat bun.
After finishing one meat bun, Eir-Eir's eyes sparkled with excitement.
By the way, Elder Brother Chrisrain is known as the Food Saint in Elgard Kingdom because he's such a great cook. I wonder if the meat bun is really that delicious. I kind of want to try it.
"Rail, where are you! Show yourself! I apologize for everything that happened. I won't ask for your forgiveness. I won't take away your freedom or Roxas's. You both can live however you want. So, please, come back to the Girard family. As my and Irfimia's son!"
Sir Marx shouted loudly.
Since Sir Rail wasn't showing up, he looked up at the ceiling.
A moment of silence filled the chapel.
I wonder if Sir Rail will show himself.
Sir Rail is usually cheerful and fun, but maybe he's actually more upset with Sir Marx and Lady Irfimia than Sir Roxas is.
Sir Rail cares a lot about Sir Roxas.
He probably can't forgive Sir Marx for hurting Sir Roxas more than Sir Roxas can.
"Maybe we messed up."
I thought quietly as a shadow dropped down from the ceiling.
Was he hiding in the beams, watching us?
I heard that heroes come in through windows, but they can drop down from the ceiling too.
Sir Rail landed gracefully in front of us, doing a fancy spin.
"Hero, reporting for duty! ...I thought about staying hidden, but if I don't show up when my name is called, I'm not a hero. Princess, you look amazing. It's like a real wedding!"
Sir Rail smiled and peeked at me.
Oh right, I've been held by Mr. Lucian this whole time.
I asked Mr. Lucian, "Can you please put me down now?" but he said, "You're so light, it's fine to keep holding you."
Being called light makes me happy. But it's not just about being light; it's kind of embarrassing.
"Brother, I'm sorry. You brought Lydia and everyone for me, didn't you? Thank you."
Sir Rail is really honest with Sir Roxas.
Sir Roxas shook his head and said, "Don't worry about it. I messed up," then Sir Rail stood in front of Sir Marx and Lady Irfimia, who was holding a handkerchief to her tears.
"Father, Mother, it's been a while. Rail Girard is back."
I thought he might say something harsh, but Sir Rail said it simply and bowed his head lightly.
Lady Irfimia cried out, "I'm so sorry, both of you, I'm so sorry...!" and started to cry, while Sir Marx hugged her tightly and said, "It's all my fault. I'm sorry."
